ethel has officially changed their candidate, and is no longer supporting feducci! they find hell distasteful (and would prefer not to take chances with their soul) and can’t support feducci’s killing of snuffers and bad treatment of rubberies and clay men (especially being half clay themself, and planning to get a rubbery limb). ethel, despite being technically a part time constable/detective is still a criminally inclined spy-so the implacable detective is out of the question entirely. 

they have a controlled addiction to laudanum and pretty much need at least a little to function normally, so the idea of a heavier tax or even an attempt to have it prohibited is not something they’re okay with. but they also don’t think prohibiting alcohol will work for a second, even if wines are left untouched. so they’re good on that front, and they also really dont care for prisoner’s honey, so they don’t really mind a tax on that? they have a high tolerance and don’t like drugs that much.

their main reason for switching is because they want equality for all the minorities in fallen london, and they’ve realized they won’t get that from feducci. so! now the temperance campaigner has a very bescarred, tired, high society alcoholic and murderer on her side.

“Friend, I regret to inform you that London is in dire straits. Despite the promises of Sinning Jenny, the poor of the city remain oppressed by the wealthy and powerful. They are subjugated by factory bosses who underpay them for their labor and by landlords who overcharge them for their rent; is it any wonder that these wretched conditions drive them to the easy escapes of drink and honey or the easy money of spirifage? In order to right London's wrongs we must dissolve this whole vicious system. It's Teatime for London: won't you join us at the table?”

It’s 1895 and Jenny’s time as Mayor is up—a new Mayor will be chosen!

The Election is free and is open to all players. It will begin Monday 26th June. Players will have two delicious weeks to choose an Election career and bolster support for their chosen candidate through a variety of actions. At the end of the first week of Election, we will announce which candidate is ahead. The final day of Election will be Monday 10th July.

This year, as part of the Fallen London Reworks, there will be new ways players can amplify their vote through social activities. Some methods will allow players to work cooperatively together to support their candidates, while others are more competitive in nature.

Join the revelry through the "An Invitation to a Ball" storylet, available throughout London. The three candidates up for the 1895 Election are:

- Feducci

- The Dauntless Temperance Campaigner

- The Implacable Detective

The elected Mayor will reign for one year, after which another election will be held. The winning candidate will have a Mayoral influence in your Opportunity Deck until next year's election, so consider who you support carefully. After the festival, there will be an opportunity to suggest candidates you'd like to see take up a Mayoral campaign for 1896.

No Election is complete without fliers, political cartoons, and other such materials. We invite you all to create and share your own!

This year we are also trying something new with the 1895 candidate posters, which we will be thrilled to announce next Monday when the festival opens.

Sinning Jenny’s time is up, a new Mayor will be chosen! This week, we announce the three candidates who think they can do a better job. Whom will you support?

 The Dauntless Temperance Campaigner is a fixture among London's social reformers. It seems she now has her sights on London! She bears the slogan: “Teatime for London.”

All manner of temperance campaigners flock to her emerald banners. Reformed poets, well-meaning members of Society and deacons and deaconesses of the Church walk in procession through the streets. 

“What I want, dearie, is for London to pull its socks up. For everybody!” She smiles and gives you a firm handshake.

 The week will end with an announcement regarding the full details of the festival, which will begin Monday the 26th of June and run for two weeks.

You are invited to participate in the city's second official Election.

The Election is free and is open to all players. It will begin today, Monday 26th June and end on the 10th July. Halfway through, we'll announce which candidate is in the lead.

Choose a candidate, and campaign! Gather Election Resources, and raise your Election Career Level to increase their support!

As part of the Fallen London Reworks project, players will be able to participate in two new social activities to help them amplify their vote:

Each political career will have its own unique social ability to further increase the impact of your vote—these social activity will be available throughout the entirety of the festival. 

The second social activity, Debates, will begin the second week of the festival
