Would it be ok to ask what the process of making a logo is like? If you have the time that is
well it’s different for everybody, and different for most logos. to keep this relatively short i’ll just talk about how i went about doing the one i just posted.
now first off i have to stress: sketch out a lot of ideas. don’t just go with the first idea you come up with. don’t be like me. anyway, this is the sketch i did for the logo. i knew i was going to hand draw the E and the 7, and use a font for ‘ternella’, so those were just placeholders. with the sketch as a guide for the ‘feel’ i wanted for the logo, i went diggin on dafont.com for free to use fontsf or the ternella. dafont.com is really good if you’re looking for a particular feel. i ended up using something that looks totally different from what i sketched, but it works. the font i used for this logo is osaka sans serif.
from there i drew the E and 7 by hand. to make the 7 generally the same as the E, i drew the E first and just flipped it and made my tweaks. something that’s helpful is to use the eraser to sharpen edges, cause most brushes will round out.
and then honestly from there it’s just fussing with gradients and colors and outlines. it’s def helpful to go and look at other logos for the general genre you’re going for. like i looked at a lot of gundam logos since this story is set in a similar universe.
base colors, an outline/stroke
drop shadows (copying the above, making it all solid, moving it slightly down and to the right)
embellishments
i hope that’s helpful?? honestly i play it all mostly by ear
