Tucson-based Dave Forbes seems to be a mad scientist of sort. And a genius. The content on his website is clearly written for other geniuses. While a number of my friends know him, I never had an opportunity to sit down with him. Though I wish I had.
Dave has put built a highly impressive product he calls a “video coat.” It’s a 60" video display built onto a lab coat, complete with hue and tint dials. And while he claims the invention is “suitable for advertising purposes,” he built it for himself so he can wear it to Burning Man. Seriously.
Probably the most impressive aspect of this video coat is that Dave built it himself, part by part. I’m going to venture a guess that it won’t be long before we see one of Dave’s inventions on the mass market.
