Thinking of Dave Frishberg, who just died at 88. I've loved his smart, witty, chatty lyrics for more decades than I want to count, especially if you go all the way back to his brilliant songs for Schoolhouse Rock. I always thought I'd see him play live one of these days. I'm sorry I never had the chance. I didn’t even know, until I read his obit today, that he lived right here in Portland! He was a favorite collaborator of another singer I love, Blossom Dearie.
