Growing up, I was absolutely enthralled by Schoolhouse Rock.  It didn't take me long to fall in love with the catchy songs and quickly committed them to memory.  It wasn't until I grew older that I looked into the history of how the cartoons came into being and that's when I discovered Bob Dorough. With rare exception ("Preamble"), Dorough wrote the music and lyrics to every single one of my personal favorite Schoolhouse Rocks including "Conjunction Junction", "Verb: That's What's Happenin'", "Electricity", and one of the most beautiful of them all -- "Three is a Magic Number".   I wrote to Mr. Dorough and thanked him for the profound impact he had upon me growing up and asked him to sign this 8x10 for me of him holding up three fingers because, after all, three is a magic number.  Oh yes it is, it's a magic number.
