Sorry for sneaking out before you woke up this morning, angel. I know you hate my early morning shifts as much as I do. Depriving your clingy ass of another hour of cuddles may as well be a crime, considering how you always complain about it. I've been missing you too- I love my job, but being away from you so much recently sucks. Asher is forcing me to take time off because he knows I'll call him out on getting part of the pack together to play Smash, the shit.

The whole nerf war was a prelude to him dragging us to play laser tag for his birthday- but it was fun. The nerf battle got so big we ended up extending the boundaries to his yard. And yes, we did have to pick up all the little bullets after, and yes, it was nightmare to find them all. We were finding nerf bullets for weeks, god.

hey i have every right to complain, depriving me of my morning cuddles is a crime. and i don't like waking up to an empty bed, it just feels... wrong. does he know that you know about that whole game night yet? the fact that he planned it while he sent you away is actually really funny to me, that and the fact that it got to the point of an official ban. i can't even imagine how bad it must have been last time, i'm almost excited to hear about whatever stirs up over there.

into the yard too?? you were not kidding when you said it was a nerf war. i can't even imagine the chaos that must have been. i know the nerf battles i've been in that were small we found the bullets for weeks after, with that big of a nerf fight? i'm sure there's still little bullets in that yard that some random kid will find in like 10 years.

It's been busy at the office, sorry I haven't managed a message until so late at night today. I hope you didn't worry too much- I'm alright, I promise. Just got caught up at work. At least we have this weekend off to go camping together, the break will be...nice. Even if my own fucking beta ganged up on me to force me to take the time off.

I hear Ash is getting some of the pack together for a big sleepover while I'm gone- that shit, I would bet money it's because I've got a ban on playing Smash with the pack. Mostly him, Tank, and Amanda though- they're way too competitive. Hopefully it's a good time, Asher knows how to organize a good party. I remember some of them from when we were younger- one time he got almost all of us in on a giant Nerf gun fight when we were about fifteen.

i won’t lie and say i wasn’t starting to get worried, but i’m glad to know you’re okay at least. you should leave that stuff for another day my love, i promise it will still be there. call me needy, i know, but i’ve been missing you. i’m excited to have time to ourselves this weekend. and for you to take a proper break from work. i swear your workaholic tendencies will be the death of you, no doubt why Ash is forcing you away for a bit.

i heard a little about it from him, it sounds like that’s definitely why he’s organizing it for the weekend we’ll be gone. do they really get that competitive? i guess, given who we’re talking about that seems like a stupid question, they are definitely that competitive. a giant nerf war?! why have i never heard about this?! you have to tell me more about it like who won? were there teams? did you guys have to do the awkward pause to pick up bullets off the ground? i have so many questions.

Hi, angel.

Hope you've been taking care of yourself, I know you get all engrossed in your work. We both do, honestly. Most of the paperwork involved with the games is almost finished- thank fuck. I should be looking for more jobs for the security company but...it can wait, for now.

I know I'm not the best at taking time off, but I was thinking about taking a weekend off to go camping- if you want to come. That's kind of where I can feel my dad most, and...the time off with you won't hurt either. And Ash is all but forcing me to take a few days off- says I've been "relieved of duty," the shithead. We can stop at a gas station on the way up, buy snacks and a lotto ticket. No pressure if you're busy, but having you along would be nice. And...it'll give us plenty of time alone, which I've sorely been missing these past couple weeks. I love you, angel.

hey davey :) i’m glad the paperwork is almost done, i’ve seen how exhausting it’s been for you. i know you won’t listen but i’m obligated to say, don’t worry so much about everything all at once my love. i think the whole pack needs a bit of a breather so i agree, a new job for the company can wait a little bit.

you deserve the break davey, and i would love to come! i love camping and i know how much it means to you. plus maybe we’ll get big money this time. i’m glad you have Ash around, lord knows i harp on you to take breaks but knowing that Ash is looking out for you too is nice. without him covering for you and forcing you to take a day off you’d surely run yourself into the ground.

I ended up having to go into work, which made for a loong night, so needless to say I'm excited for you to come home too. I miss you . a lot. you need to take a break David. if you're admitting that you're exhausted? that means you're far past exhausted. the second that work slows down a bit again take a day off. that's not a suggestion Shaw. I mean it. you work yourself way too hard.

I should be saying the same things to you my love. I am taking care of myself though. things are super stressful right now for everyone it seems but I promise I'm taking breaks when I can. you better be doing the same. do chicken nuggets count as a half-decent meal? thank you my love :) it was definitely a shitty night to say the least, so that would be perfect. im trying my best to stay positive about it all but it's kinda hard and some cuddles would be really nice. you know how much i love when you run your hand through my hair so it would definitely help clear my head a little.

you know i wouldn't have said it if i didn't believe it. your dad would be proud of you Davey. i know i am. i think the whole pack is proud to have you as their alpha and of all that you do. you may like to hide your care for everyone under some bristly layers, but we can all see how much you would give for anyone in your pack.

The puppy dog eyes do not always work on me, you snot. I'm a respected alpha, I can't be giving in to your every whim because you look at me oh-so-pleadingly. The pack views you as family too; you are family, because you're my mate, the same as Asher and Milo's mates.

Guess we'll have to keep each other's workaholic habits at bay, angel. I'm the alpha, I have to focus on making sure the rest of my pack is doing okay. I miss you too, angel. Even if you drool on my shirt when you sleep. With you there, it feels like...home.

mhmmm okay Davey, whatever you say. alpha or not you know you’re a sucker for that look. i’m not gonna lie sometimes i get in my head about if i’m really part of the pack, being unempowered and all. like i wonder if people are just nice because i’m your mate. so it’s nice to hear that they see me like family. that all of us mates are considered apart of the pack.

i think we do a pretty good job at keeping the other in line :) i don’t think i say it enough, but you’re a great alpha, David, you care about everyone in your pack more than seems physically possible. not that i have any evidence of what a bad alpha looks like, but i see the way they look up to you. on another note i do not drool you jerk. but even if i do, which i most certainly do not, you make it feel like home for me too.

Ash is fine, just a bit annoyed about the whole thing. We both are, honestly. You're a troublemaker and you know it, those puppy eyes won't work on me this time, you little shit. The whispering is annoying, but I don't mind. It's good to see Ash and Milo somewhat back to normal, even for a while. Thank you for being there, as my mate and as their friend. I know I didn't show it but...introducing you at a pack meeting was nerve-wracking. It's nice to see you bond with everyone, even if it's over gossiping about pack matters that you shouldn't be gossiping about.

Shouldn't be long until I'm home, so I can indulge those clingy tendencies of yours. I took it easy...well- easier than I would have, so thank you angel. Don't worry about me, I promise I'm okay. Workaholic, yeah, but you already know that. It'll be nice to come home to you again, spend some time with you again. Cuddling on the couch or watching you play Minecraft or making food together...I missed it, while you were on your trip.

i’m glad everyone’s okay, i would definitely be annoyed too. i don’t know about that one Davey, the puppy eyes always work on you. its the best defense i have really. but i agree about that first pack meeting. i don’t think i’ve ever been more nervous in my life. of course it was worth it though, i love the pack, they’re like family to me. which includes gossiping, it’s just what families do :) plus i love being your mate and i love being there to listen to Asher and Milo theorize about random pack pairings. it keeps life interesting.

i’m always gonna be worried because i know all about your workaholic tendencies. you’re too hard on yourself sometimes and it’s my job to keep that in check. and you know i can’t help being clingy, you’re you how am i supposed to not be clingy? especially after being gone for so long. i’ve really missed just being near you. even if i have to listen to you trash talk minecraft, having you near me it just… i missed it a lot. i always feel so safe in your arms.

i’ll be awake when you get here i promise, no cricks in my neck, i am absolutely not giving up laying on your chest. listening to your heartbeat is too soothing. and, you’ll be pleased to hear that i am hydrated and fed so no need to worry about all that.

Hey, angel. Been a busy as hell morning at work today, had some annoying shifter from another pack pick a fight with Ash. Relatively minor, it got de-escalated fine, but ugh. Doesn’t help that Asher and Milo keep whispering about something like teenagers gossiping. Don't suppose my angel would know anything about that? Troublemaker.

Sorry I couldn't stick around this morning long, but I left coffee in the pot if you need any before heading out. Remember to drink something other than coffee, too, though.
