A good story is like a cosy fireplace. While you're reading, it burns intensively and your're surrounded by the light and warmth. As you finish it, the fire goes down slowly. But depending on how good and intense it was, it still glows long time afterwards.

@khaleesiofalicante 's LBAF still has some little flames that spark inside me. Scenes that come to my mind unasked for, feelings that make my heart go in awe. Sentences that will stay with me.

David's book in IALS

I have absolutely no memory of writing this so I was pleasantly surprised to find bits in this chapter where we find David's descriptions of the people closest to him.

I don't know how else to explain it but...it genuinely felt like David wrote these words, not me.

Like, this is EXACTLY how he sees them and feels about them (in every story, I should say) and I'm so glad I got to write it.

So, I'm sharing it here again :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. WE NEED MORE DAVID + RAFAEL content (maybe in lbaf 👀)

PS - This reminded me about the Never Have I Ever (both Max's and David's) and how the one thing David can't tolerate is his children getting hurt (hence why he did what he did in lbaf when the canon event happened in the Other Timeline). He always sees Max as his protector and the only time he saw himself as the protector was when he became a father, and I think that terrifies him.

I was rewatching Aristocats yesterday and there is something so beautiful about the old Disney movies. I really like the rough sketch design that you can see when the characters move.

I feel that David like a lot the old movies too, like Aristocats, Anastasia, and The Fox and the Round.

I'm always one step ahead 😎

What do you think are David's favourite desserts to eat/make?

Ah! I don't think there is a big overlap between the ones he loves to eat and make.

Unsurprisingly, most of his favourite desserts are French. This includes Macarons (if he had to pick one), Opera cake, Eclair, and Tarte tatin.

Since moving to New York, he has a soft spot for a good apple pie (Maryse is very good at making them!!) and also loves s'mores (especially the ones Max makes for the kids)

Some other desserts he likes from other cuisines, especially stuff he's learned and loved from his family - Tres Leches, Dora Cake, Gulab Jamun and Vatrushka. He doesn't always make these, but he loves trying!

“Oh, I see what this is about,” Alec crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes. “You think I’m not good enough for Magnus.”

“No!” David all but yelled, his face a shade darker. “You are literally one of the hottest professors on campus. Um. Objectively. Of course.”

“Then what is the fucking delay?” Alec tried not to whine, though it came out that way. “All of this feels very homophobic.”

“Oh my God,” David whined, feeling the pressure. “I just want this to go well, Professor Lightwood. What if I mess this up, and you never get a chance with Professor Bane, and it’s all my fault?”

“It will 100% be your fault,” Alec agreed without missing a beat. “Which is why I’m making you do this. If I do it and it’s my fault, I’ll just jump out of the window.”
