I reread a chapter of IALS randomly (like one does) and had some thoughts. It was a David-centric chapter and the angst was delicious, so lemme share with the class :)

I love the malec parenting dynamics in IALS. I was writing it at the same time as TLND (and LBAF), so it was very interesting to write :)

I recently reread IALS. And now I'm thinking about the Kincaid of that AU. Will he and Arthur ever meet again? And, more generally, do you think you'll ever write more about IALS? I already miss them.

Also, I'm super hyped for the Mafia AU. I can't wait to read it <3

Sometimes I remember that IALS is the only fic I ever wrote without an outline, and it somehow turned out to be one of my faves 🥺 Always remember to step out of your comfort zones, friends!!

Arthur and Kincaid might meet. Or they might not. Who knows? Not me!

I'm not sure if I'll ever write more IALS. If I get inspo, then always!

Reread Some IALS - So, Here's Some Thoughts

At this point, Max is not spending enough time with the kids. So, he doesn't understand that Lance relies on auditory cues (and that he's developed a dry sense of humour) and Lance being sad that Max laughed at Arthur's joke and not his own :( (I LOVE SUBTLE NOTES LIKE THIS)

David's book in IALS

I have absolutely no memory of writing this so I was pleasantly surprised to find bits in this chapter where we find David's descriptions of the people closest to him.

I don't know how else to explain it but...it genuinely felt like David wrote these words, not me.

Like, this is EXACTLY how he sees them and feels about them (in every story, I should say) and I'm so glad I got to write it.

So, I'm sharing it here again :)

David about Rafael

I've said it before and I'll say it again. WE NEED MORE DAVID + RAFAEL content (maybe in lbaf 👀)

David about his children

PS - This reminded me about the Never Have I Ever (both Max's and David's) and how the one thing David can't tolerate is his children getting hurt (hence why he did what he did in lbaf when the canon event happened in the Other Timeline). He always sees Max as his protector and the only time he saw himself as the protector was when he became a father, and I think that terrifies him.
