The last new episode of the Big Bang Theory aired on May 16, 2019. The series ran for 279 episodes over 12 seasons and spun off the series Young Sheldon that then spun off Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. In the final episode, Sheldon and Amy recieved a Nobel prize, Penny announced she was pregnant, and Sarah Michelle Geller and Brian Posehn made guest appearances. The episode marked the only on screen appearance of Howard and Bernadette's children. The closing scene mirrored the closing scene of the pilot episode.
