Art Catalogues at LACMA (Miracle Mile) 4-6pm Award-winning Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, David Gregor, and CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director of LACMA Michael Govan participate in a conversation about architecture in Los Angeles, teaching at SCI-Arc in the 1990s, and building things. This free discussion and book signing is presented in conjunction with the recently released publication Peter Zumthor: Buildings and Projects 1985–2013, edited by Thomas Durisch, with essays by Peter Zumthor. Downtown and Eastside Events and Openings
de LaB presents the Design-n-Dim Sum Bike Tour, which makes stops at the studios of Scout Regalia, Bari Ziperstein, and more. The tour begins at the Flying Pigeon at10:30am. In Eagle Rock, the Picnic Invitational happens from 1-6pm. This day long art event is hosted at Eagle Rock Recreation Center, a structure designed by Richard Neutra and completed in 1953.
Downtown’s Jancar Jones Gallery hosts an opening reception for an exhibition by Morgan Peck from 6-9pm, and Chinatown Summer Nights, featuring music, food, art and more, takes place at various venues and galleries throughout Chinatown from 5pm-12am.
