David "D.W." Griffith first appeared in 1972 as the owner of the Gem Theater who rents out a room to Luke Cage, often acting as a friend and sidekick to Luke despite the regular devastation that Luke's crimefighting activities regularly bring the theater.
In an adaptation, David would have a natural place in a Heroes story, even if simply acting as Luke's landlord and friend, maybe even helping out Luke and Danny at a key moment. As for casting, Jeremiah Richard Craft could return. Tyler James Williams would also fit well.
