Subscribe: @Akeem Mair Letâs get to 10â000 Subscribers together!!! Ellen sent her writer Lauren to Barnes & Noble to speak lyrics to popular song by Taylor...
The Ellen Show was one of the most widely watched programs on television!! Akeem Mair makes a splash on Ellen DeGeneresâs show with one of her top writers, Lauren Pomerantz!!Â
It happened when I was in acting class at the time. I swear my phone kept buzzing every 5 minutes like crazy. My friends and family kept blowing up my phone up with texts like, âyou were on The Ellen Show??? Call me!â They were thrilled seeing me on the recurring humor segment called âSpeak The Lyrics.â A show where one of Ellenâs writers walks up to a complete stranger and begins speaking to them in song lyrics.
I swear I had no idea it was on TV because I was in a class, âOn Set/On Cameraâ breaking down being realistic with your actions in a scene taught by David Rountree. I originally had no idea I was even being filmed for The Ellen Show. A couple months earlier, I stopped at a Barnes and Noble in Burbank. I notice a bunch of film crew standing outside so I asked one of the crew members, âWhatâs going on?â None of them claim they knew any information about whatâs going on. I walked in and checked out some books and was on my way out when I notice a 2pac record and stopped at the record section. Thatâs when Lauren appeared.
The hilarious segment puts some of Ellen DeGeneresâ writers in a public setting with hidden cameras that also record the conversation that takes place between them and a complete unsuspecting stranger. The catch is, the writers only get to use lyrics from a song when engaging a stranger. How the person responds to the incoherent statements being thrown at them is usually the funniest part of the segment. In Akeem Mairâs case, the showâs staff was using lyrics from Taylor Swiftâs song titled Me!
I remember Coach Mike lessons of being completely confident and donât disagree with what anyone says while their improving. Next thing I know, I was signing some papers and it airs on TV, Ellen calling it, âThe best episode sheâs ever seen!â
Unlike other strangers seen in past episodes of the segment who tend to shy away from the situation, Akeem Mair, being the experienced actor that he is, acted confidently and comfortably in engaging the showâs writer in a conversation that did not make sense at all. The whole segment with Akeem turned out to be such a treat for followers of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, and the actor gained instant popularity online, much to his surprise.
On Ellen Showâs YouTube channel, the segment with Akeem Mair reached more than 700,000 views and more than 5 million on Instagram. Akeem Mairâs brief stint on the Ellen DeGeneres Show landed in the instagram feed of his future agent, Sarah Angeli from Commercial Talent Agency. The timing was perfect because I had just submitted my headshots and resume to her last week. So when I walked into her office for my agent meeting, she had my episode cued up on her computer. She was like, âI just saw this yesterday and here you are!â She played it again and we both smiled and laughed. Iâll never forget that experience, it was Godâs blessings written all over it.
Akeem Mairâs words, âI learned that life is an unexpected audition, especially in the land of Hollywood. You never know when your opportunity is so always be ready!!â
Okay guys, guys, listen.
Listen.
New tinfoil hat theory, okay?
Akeem was known for shapeshifting, right? And it's never outright clarified that they died, right? The closest thing is the text from the tarot card
II: The Minister Illuminate
The one who brings together our two words will die doing so; at the feet of monstrous force, they will perish.
What if they're just pretending to be something else this whole time? That Akeem has been doing this for so long that "Akeem" is functionally dead?
Okay, now, this could mean Akeem is literally anybody. Honestly it'd be hilarious if it turned out Akeem was Zommoros this whole time.
But-
Let's take a quick look at the name of the card: Minister Illuminate. Minister can mean a head of an organization, namely a country or religion. Illuminate is to shed light or information.
All this talk about being a leader who gets information... with ties to Elona... who brings two worlds together... and is the Wizard of the Obscure... information that is hidden... whispers in shadows you might say...
Could they be the Master of Shadows? Or is Riel Darkwater aka the Master of Whispers just a disguise, a persona?
Also, when you go out of your way to do the achievements that gives you more details about each of the Wizards to get a themed weapon, the history and weapon you learn about for the Obscure are involving Turai to a weird degree.
Why Turai of all people?
Now it gets wilder. Isgarren pretended to be Akeem when he first met Turai, and the Order of Whispers & Shadows were formed by Turai's body guards. What if Isgarren and Akeem pulled the biggest con and snuck Akeem into Turai's most trusted companions?

Remember that whole tidbit about how gaining wizard powers makes you forget who you are?
That's pretty interesting when you consider that the last djinn we encounter who suffered memory loss defaulted to look like a human.
And wouldn't it be real interesting if, in a desperate attempt to get Akeem to remember who they are, Isgarren disguised himself to look like them, hoping that maybe the confused shapeshifter might remember who they are?
Gaining wizard powers is definitely a monstrous force, wouldn't you say?
