Bah, humbug. I'm fighting a cold and, of course, severe dread over the current state of the world. Normal Christmas Day stuff. So all of that considered, I decided to work on an In Memoriam post to help close out this wonderful holiday season, a first for this blog. Real festive, don't you think? My family lived off the land and summer evening meals featured baked stuffed tomatoes, potato salad, corn on the cob, fresh shelled peas and homemade ice cream with strawberries from our garden. With no air conditioning in those days, the cool porch was the center of our universe after the scorching days.
