Looking forward to seeing the swimmers face off against the gymnasts. Any team w/ Nathan Adrian on it automatically gets bonus points from me, but Shannon Miller, Dominique Dawes, and Dominique Moceanu were there for me when I had chicken pox so they're a sentimental fave. I already have my DVR set to record.
I have no words to describe this.
Belief by David Plummer (2012)
This is something you will want to read, to understand how a champion thinks, even after their darkest hour. David Plummer bares his soul, after missing the 2012 Olympic Team by tenths of a second, and speaks on how his heart burns on, doing what he loves.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it possible to believe yourself capable of accomplishing something you have never accomplished before? The easy answer is yes. It is done every day. A man built the first plane and made it fly. A woman cured a disease and saved lives. A man ran faster than anyone ever thought possible.
But to truly believe yourself capable of something that not only you, but no one has ever done must take something amazing. A deep-seeded belief and sense of self worth. A confidence that borders on irrationality. A desire that burns the soul.
