Bob & Dale, a short film by David Rosfeld
Last night was my first time in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Just a fun tidbit, DUMBO is an acronym for Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass.
The reason I ventured to DUMBO last night was for an Independent Filmmaker Project event. You may know IFP as the awesome organization that puts out Filmmaker Magazine. As a new citizen of New York, and a new member of IFP, I thought it would be a great mixer to attend. I took two David's in town; boyfriend David Bizzaro and the other talented director/writer/beauty David Rosfeld. I am producing David's next feature film, VICTOR, and could not be more thrilled to be working with him on this project.
Last nights IFP event was meant to highlight a recent partnership between IFP, General Assembly, and The NYC Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment for this beauty: the Made in NY Media Center. I'm really excited about the launch of this center. Educational opportunities and filmmaking programs will be offered, and this sentence sums it up and brings me joy:
"It aims to bring together professionals from the film, television, advertising, new media, gaming, marketing and branding industries for collaboration and new opportunities."
All in all, I'd say my first trip to DUMBO was a success. I will be going back every chance I can get!
ps. The store across the street from the event was selling Tattlys. Remember when I told you about Tina Roth Eisenberg? Well I totally nerded out and bought a bunch out of respect and love for everything she does.
