Talk Hard brings George Zwierz – the creator of the hit webseries Guys Book Club - to The ComedySportz Theatre!
Talk Hard Media, March 11, 2013: Talk Hard, Chicago ’s hit late-night, uncensored talk show is proud to welcome George Zwierz, the creator of Guys Book Club to The ComedySportz Theatre this Friday (March 15th) at midnight. Guys Book Club is a web-series like no other. It’s about a group of married men who form a fictional book club as an excuse to get away from their wives. As you might imagine, when a group of man-children get together with no supervision, adolescent insanity ensues! George will be on-hand to discuss the series and to give a sneak peek of the show’s second season!
This action-packed show will also feature an appearance by internationally published writer, critic, and co-author of a book from The Onion’s A.V. Club, David Wolinsky! David Wolinsky is the host of the iTunes featured “new and noteworthy” podcast Snackerdoodle, about made-up junk foods. He has also written for Adult Swim, Rolling Stone, Maxim, Wired, Ninetendo Power, IFC, McSweeney’s and more! He’ll be stopping by Talk Hard this Friday to discuss his latest projects and to discuss all of the work he’s gotten despite never having taken a journalism class!
The evening will be capped with a live, St. Patrick’s Day themed performance by burlesque dancer Shirley Knot! A staple among Chicago’s thriving (and thrusting) burlesque scene, Shirley combines edginess and silliness in a way that is both endearing and unpredictable.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at The ComedySportz Theatre box office. Call 773.549.8080 in advance or buy them at the door. Attendance to the 10p ComedySportz improv show gets audience members into Talk Hard at half price. Life is short – talk hard.
