SPIKED PUNCH - REDEMPTION CHALLENGE EDITION!
Throughout the summer, more than a dozen teams of comedians battled it out for a chance to become our inaugural Spiked Punch Grand Champion! Â
This week - we are giving one player from each losing team a shot to win their way back into the competition in our Redemption Challenge Edition of Spiked Punch. Â Six hilarious comedians will be put through a comedy gauntlet, and one of these contestants will earn a shot in next week's season finale.Â
The Redemption Challenge edition of Spiked Punch is this Friday, August 15th at midnight at The ComedySportz Theatre (929 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL).
Here are our Redemption Challenge contestants:
Ben is one of the creators of the cult hit comedy show The Telethon, which ran for three years at The Playground Theater, and recently co-wrote a hilarious murder mystery that opens soon. Â He wasn't originally slated to be a contestant on our show, but filled-in at the last minute with Oh Theodora's team and ended up winning the Redemption Challenge and may end up taking home the top prize! Â Boy, will that make Oh, Theodora look like a bunch of idiots.
Matt is a cast member of Chicago Underground Comedy and has performed in the TBS Just For Laughs Festival and, despite his penis has performed multiple times in the Chicago Women's Funny Festival. Â He won his team's Redemption Challenge by having cunnilingus with a Sloppy Joe sandwich.
Jake McKenzie is originally from Oklahoma, so he knows all about having things taken from him. Â Jake is an alumnus of 100 Proof Comedy and one of the producers of the wildly popular Stand Up Stand Up. Â He won his redemption challenge by begging the audience to touch his genitals.
Jesse Gomez has made it farther in this competition than anyone this nice should. Â Standing his ground - Jesse refused to sell-out his teammates from Improvised Double Dare, won the hearts of the audience, and his place in this Redemption Challenge. Â Jesse's friends are out of the way this week, and we're ready to see him hurt some feelings (and afterwards apologize profusely).
Peter Kremidas only has one kidney, but his training at The School of Steppenwolf has enabled him to convincingly play several two-kidneyed characters. Â He is a member of the ensemble at The ComedySportz Theatre and Laugh Out Loud Theater, and appeared in the film The Aristocrats. Â He won his Redemption Challenge by convincing the audience that he is the most humble member of his team.
Abby is the only contestant this week who wasn't on a losing team. Â She won her episode of the show, and then got royally screwed in the semifinals. Â She tied another competitor in sudden-death overtime, and was eliminated by our judges on a call that was overturned in Spiked Punch's cocaine-fueled writers room. Â Now, she's back, fighting for a spot in the finals! Â
Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased online or by calling The ComedySportz Theatre’s Box office at 773 549-8080!
