Any fanfic pet peeves? Tropes you hate or just things that bother you? Or anything you particularly love to see in a fic?

In general, I am a “you do you” kind of person when it comes to fic. If I don’t like it, I don’t have to read it and can move right along (beyond RPF about non-celebrities). So maybe my one big pet peeve is bad tagging (or more accurately not tagging) so that pairings/acts/events, readers might not be into are not shared. 

And I will say with Schitt’s Creek, I don’t specifically like fics that “break the rules” of the universe. So fics where there is a lot of cruelty or homophobia or things like that break Dan’s “tenets” of the show, I’m not here for. I am not that “strict” with previous fandoms. And it’s not really anything against the writer, in that case, just my preference with SC. 

Also, I thought of one petty thing I hate. People who get the fashion wrong on Schitt’s Creek in their stories. They take very very very close care with the fashion on the show. It’s a huge part of the story. And then someone comes along and writes that David is wearing converse (or hell, even saying Patrick’s wearing Costco jeans). Nothing throws me out of a story more quickly than someone saying David or Moira is wearing like a department store brand....a fancy one...but still a department store brand. A quick google about the show wardrobe, this list I made of all of David’s sweaters, some Instagram accounts, @wild-aloof-rebel‘s posts about the wardrobe, or the entire podcast Leslie and I do, can all get you pretty accurate info without a lot of work. 

One big thing I love to see in fic: characters being in character. Seems simple but sometimes it feels like even if a story has good writing...that the author has just put those characters’ names on a story that could be anyone. I love love LOVE when authors take extra care to write in-character so that it could be the most out-there AU, but you know who these people are. There are some really great fic writers out there that do this.

1. Zara Man Black Sweater with Leather Shoulders with Kenzo Jeans. I just want it all.

2. Helmut Lang Hoodie, DL Eyewear sunglasses. Tractors Supply Pitchfork = ICONIC

Honorable mention: THE BOMBER JACKET OF MYSTERY 

3. Saint Laurent Mohair Zebra Sweater. It looks amazing on him and it looks soft while being hugged. 

And the Neil Barrett Lightning Bolt sweatshirt is my runner up because I mean, lightning struck that night. 

4. The Givenchy Flame Print Sweatshirt: It’s cliche but I mean, come on, it’s amazing:

Really almost every season 4 sweater is amazing. 

5. Rick Owens Tunic with draping and twists. Controversial maybe but I love the draping and how this fits him. Probably would hate it on anyone else who is not a beanpole of a human being. 

Honorable mention: Givenchy I believe in the power of love sweatshirt, the Amiri Palm Tree cardigan, the Givenchy Rose sweater....SO MANY. 

And you know what one I’d pay good money to burn in a fire. 

6. Alexander McQueen Sweater, MCQ CULOTTES, Rick Owen’s high tops, and a whole lot of wiggles. You know the answer to this and so I steal your own gif to answer you:
