let's hope this doesn't end in a CATastrophe [closed]
Working at a pet shop has never been a goal or some sort of aspiration for Noboru. He never really considered this to be his future job, nor even thought of any other real job to be one. He always lived on the fantasy of becoming a wonderful Dragon Knight alongside his fellow card companions, having adventures across different worlds and meeting new friends…
Though he knew that was unrealistic. A boy can still dream.
Now here he is, donning the store uniform, a navy apron with a small, beige cat patch placed on the chest, hauling a variety of animal food into the store and stacking them on top of one another. It’s a quaint store with mostly animal necessities, such as toys and food and medical care, but also contained different fenced sections for cat and dog adoptions, all separate. The shop was filled with soft meowing and barking, almost calming to the blonde. Him being one of the few employees around, he didn’t mind. It just meant more work to take up his free time; he was used to working alone.
Placing the last sack down, he steps back to admire the neat stack of bagged nibblets. Good work today, Noboru! He gives himself a mental pat on the back. As a break, he walks towards the fenced area containing the cats, stepping over the short gate, then kneeling down. The cats excitingly patter towards him and paw and claw at his work pants and apron, mewling in various rounds and different pitches. His lips curl up slightly once he presses down at one of the kitten’s nose, the feline licking the finger in response.
The bell at the entrance rings from a customer's arrival and disrupts his short break. He abruptly stands up to get back to work, though some cats cling to the fabric of his pants, crying for more playtime and forcing him to be immobilized, so he calls out from the spot within the enclosure.
“Welcome to the shop— I’ll be right there in a moment—! Is there anything you need help with?”
