Try some explosive exercise
Swap the slow and steady exercise with some explosive activity.
This will burn more calories and activate faster twitch muscle fibres.
Argh, what does this actually mean, you say?!?......Instead of squats try some squat jumps, skip the cross trainer and try a boxing class, instead of going for a 60 minute jog do a 15 minute session of short sprints!
Thanks to David Ferguson, of Emperor Fitness, for today's tip.
Try lifting weights at the gym
Ladies, don't forget the weight section at your next gym session.
Pumping iron with the blokes boosts your metabolism MORE than cardio, building more lean muscle which turns your bod into a 24/7 fat burning machine.
Uh-huh - so next time swap your cardio for some weights - You won't get bigger, only fitter!
Thanks to David Ferguson, personal trainer with Emperor Fitness, for today's tip.
Try doing some cardio before brekkie
If you can handle a little hunger - try to do your cardio workout before brekkie instead of after.
Our personal trainer mate David Ferguson of Emperor Fitness tells us you could get more from your workout that way.
Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds - David says to start with a 30 minute walk, three mornings per week.
