Good news about the Davis Fire. Last I saw it was over 50% contained and still under 6000 acres.
Evacuation areas are shrinking. Warnings getting lifted. Power is getting restored as well.

Firefighters did an excellent job, winds were high especially on Wednesday. There were homes that were lost but it could have easily been more. 🙏 to those that lost their homes.
Dramatic fire pic from Project Discovery Tahoe.
Highway 431 is still closed because the fire is right there.
Part of old highway 395 through Washoe Valley is still closed but may reopen tomorrow.

Update on the Davis Fire for Thursday. It's still burning but they say it's 37% contained and about 5800 acres. It didn't go crazy yesterday in the windy conditions so that's awesome. They couldn't fly in the wind so all the control was ground level. Gusts were in the 40-60 MPH range. Way to go firefighters on the ground!

Certain schools in South Reno and Incline Village are closed.
Some areas are still without power. There were power poles and power equipment burned. NVenergy is fixing what they can access.
For anyone that donates to Go Fund Me, be aware there are scammers posing as victims. They've used old Paradise Fire pics and have claimed to be in Pleasant Valley. Some fakes have been identified and removed. Please watch out.

Fire crews are working hard but the Davis Fire is still 0% contained. Lots of water tank planes and helicopters are flying overhead, some are filling up in Lake Tahoe, some are dipping into other nearby water sources.
They believe the fire started at Davis Creek Campground. I heard from some acquaintances that a family was originally trapped in their truck at the campground, but escaped safely.
Pictures of burned out buildings in Washoe Valley are popping up. Many houses and the Holy Spirit Catholic church are gone.
