For Juneteenth, Adult Swim handed the mic to Dawn Richards {aka DAWN}, who used her platform to feature Black visual artists over their IG stories.

As much as brilliant Brooklyn collective Dirty Projectors tends to utterly defy genres and as much as I know that they reel in fellow artist fans from all across the music spectrum, it still came as an unexpected surprise to find out that the band’s latest single features R&B pop chanteuse,  D∆WN, or Dawn Richards formerly of Danity Kane. Don’t get me wrong, this is pleasant, eager, welcome surprise. D∆WN has been making massive waves with her music this past year, and her soulful vocals are a perfect accompaniment to Dirty Projectors’ whimsically warped, fidgety agitated sound on Cool Your Heart. In fact, she reminds me heavily of Amber Coffman on the song. There’s a glossy coat of sweetness that covers this fascinating tune, yet another fine taste from Dirty Projectors’ long awaited seventh full length.
