if you had someone write an npc from tristan's story, which character would that be?
this is honestly really difficult to answer in large part because it’s difficult for me to want to give away pieces of my canon to anyone that I’ve already partially developed — for instance, I’m so happy to have other people’s characters be part of the menagerie, or have menagerie AUs, but I’m a little less willing to give up the npcs I’ve already partially fleshed out to anyone except under certain circumstances because I typically have a very specific vision for them. for instance, cooper is deeply important to tristan but he’ll always be played by me due to my particular vision for their dynamic. it would be interesting for someone to play his best friend ( and sometimes frenemy ) sarita because I think there’s a LOT of flexibility in the range and nature of their relationship ; I have a vision but it’s not as static as his dynamic with coop and there’s more room for growth. I think maybe the most interesting and challenging npc for someone to play might be seneca, tristan’s mentor and father figure with whom he has a toxic dependency and who will almost always betray him. this is a relationship about which I have NUMEROUS thoughts and which I think is his most formative and has given him so many of his issues. while I have a lot of very concrete thoughts, there are a lot of moving pieces still and it would probably be the most important to explore — although again, I’m always weirdly hesitant to have anyone play npcs from my oc canon because I’m worried I’ll be too overbearing or my ideas will be too much.
