i was gonna post on my own blog but then i realised i don't have to cry about it alone so here: do u think hal consistently avoids the sun when out in space for lantern duties because every time the sun is so much as in his periphery, he’s instantly reminded of the golden glowing hair of the love of his life & the human embodiment of the sun, mr barry allen, and then he starts missing him way too much? :(

anndd ok i thought you were going to be saying how after his sacrifice of his life to reignite the sun… thats why he avoids it iwudhrf which is also just as sad but

ok then, i’ll play… consider this:
barry after hal is dead and gone, after doing the whole reigniting of the earths sun thing… barry pretends hes fine, and goes weeks without really stopping of being in FLASH persona. he gets to the point where he rescues cats from trees just to keep his mind preoccupied. cause if he stops, even for a second. he’ll see the sun. see what hal did in the end. that he made the hero call. that he left barry. yeah he did it for a hell of a good reason. and barry would have done the same. but that doesnt change the fact that he left barry. left him when hal made promises to always be there. promises they both knew he couldn’t really promise, not really. but they pretended all the same. and now barry was left, all alone in this world. without the one person he could always rely on. the one person he could call at 2am about how crazy the speedforce is. the one person he could eat 5 large pizzas in front of and then have crazy passionate sex immediately after. the one person he knew without fail, would always have his back, no matter what. the one person… he needed the most in this world… and he just left.
and that was not something barry was ready to think about.
its worse when he stops. when he stops. when he stops and his body finally stops from exhaustio … thats when its the worst. thats when he dreams of hal, hal’s cocky ass grin, his perfect face, gorgeous body… and his laugh that never failed to bring a smile to barrys. his sense of humor and best of all, his heart. which hal tried to hide away from the world, but when he showed it to barry? god. there would never be anyone else for barry allen. and they’d be together again, and barry would forget about what happened. and he’d be with hal and they’d be together again and it’d be just as it was.
and then he’d wake up.
