100% this. I mean, if people enjoy it, fine, people can enjoy what they like, but I feel like I’m just scroll-scroll-scrolling through AO3 because every single fic is tagged with hardcore kinks and then I find one that isn’t - and within one chapter a goddamn stranger is creeping on a random woman and calling her his little girl and I’m sorry but AM I MEANT TO FIND THIS ANYTHING OTHER THAN RAPEY AND CREEPY? And that’s before we even start analysing “daddy kink”.

I’m a simple girl. If I click on a fic that seems fluffy and filled with lovely tropes like enemies to lovers and fake dating and bed sharing - you know, the good stuff, that’s what I want, maybe, just maybe also containing some recognisable characterisation for whatever ship I’m reading. But that seems difficult. Everything is upped to kink level 1000 and reads like the script for a porn movie.

I’m tired. I just want some good fic.

It's essentially a makeover show but instead of just giving them a fashion and grooming overhaul they teach them better lifestyle habits like diet and they also makeover their homes and give some life coaching. It's such a lovely heartwarming show. I prefer it to other makeover shows cause it doesn't CHANGE the person, it just shows them how to build and improve on what they already wear etc

Oooh sounds. Tbh I hate makeover shows but maybe this one is different.

dawnofthedusk: I've never understood the whole 'url' monopoly anyway. Like the hoarding etc and 'I'm doing a url giveaway' things. It's really embarrassing.

It’s absolutely embarrassing. I’m entirely embarrassed for all of these people. You know what I do when I know I’ll never use a url? Delete it. The only time I “save” a url is if 1) I know I’m gonna use it again, and soon, or 2) It’s an original url (not canon) like freckfacedboybellamy (something like that) that I came up with and no one else would think to want or use. 

Canon urls are something people offered 0% brain power to come up with, that they obtained 100% out of luck for snatching it first. You shouldn’t get a pat on that back for that? Like congrats you were the fastest or you had a friend who was the fastest and hooked you up?? But I’m not gonna praise or worship you over it? It’s a dumbass website we’re all embarrassed to be a part of anyways??

It just takes it to a new level of evil when you demand money for a url. You’ve just taken $100 from some 12 year old, congrats, you’ve done it, you’ve made it big!!

“Well people sell lots of things so how is this different-” oh wow ya seriously gonna compare people working to create something and then asking for money as compensation for their time, effort, and creativity with doing absolutely nothing and asking for money? Selling a Tumblr url is like.... going to a park, sitting on a public bench there, and then asking for $100 to stand up and let someone else sit. It’s morally and ethically wrong. Writers don’t even charge money for fanfiction and people on this hellsite be asking for $500 for Tumblr url dickcheney.
