      It’s a BACK AND FORTH with the two of them. Almost like clockwork, one of them will wake up tossing and turning from a nightmare that haunts them. There’s many topics to choose from, and sometimes Percy is thankful it isn’t always the same thing tormenting him, but he wishes there’d be something he could do for Vex.

    She’s done nothing wrong, as opposed to him, and if anyone deserves these nightmares, it’s him. His fingers run through her hair softly as he pulls her just a little closer, pressing a KISS to her forehead. “Do you want me to light the fire? Get some warmth into the room?”

         “I’m NOT.” Vax tries his best to keep a cheery facade most of these days, and sometimes he believes it. He knows that he doesn’t have much time left, and he wants to make the best of it, but it’s hard when he looks at the faces of his friends, and his beloved sister, and sees their sadness.

         It fills him with dread, not about what’s to come, but with thoughts about what he’s leaving BEHIND.

         “I just...don’t want to see you sad, stubby.” He says, the hint of a smile on his face as he reaches out to brush a strand of hair from her face. “We shouldn’t be wasting our time with that, so...I suppose I fight my battles alone where I don’t bother you with it.”

Percy clutches the phone tightly to his cheek, quite upset by the proceedings. Vax isn’t doing well--food poisoning most likely, but potentially something worse. “I thought you’d like to know that your beloved twin is dying in the bathroom right now,” he huffs into the receiver as he rushes to get some water for his friend. 

“I’m not sure if he needs the emergency room or not,” he explains, clearing his throat. This situation isn’t about his irritation with her or the strange tension that always seems to exist between them. He swallows the jabs that go through his head.

Vax nodded when Vex asked if it was really him. “Yeah, Vex, I’m really here. It’s really me.” He murmured, reaching out for her if she wanted to take his hand. “I’ll explain everything to you very soon, I promise. But for now, can I please get one of your Stubby hugs? I’ve missed them.”

“ what do you think? “  stalking past his sister’s bed, vax scowled as best he could with what was definitely going to be a black eye in the morning. falling face-first into his own bed was probably not the best plan either, as the young half-elf yelped in pain from landing on bruises hidden under his clothes. 

out of frustration — and a good deal of anger for the entire situation they were both in — he followed that up with a muffled scream before finally rolling onto his back and sitting up.  “ i tried to get that asshole who’s been putting shit in your braid to stop. it... didn’t go great. father’s probably hearing from that jerk’s parents now. “  and that would mean another lecture for vax, he already knew, scowling more.

He’d stepped inside, shedding his coat and placing it upon Trinket’s back as if he were some sort of walking coatrack. Better that then tossing it upon the floor to get dirtied immediately. Coming in from the cold, he wipes his foggy spectacles upon the sleeve of his shirt before looking towards Vex’ahlia, crossing the room to join her, a parcel in his arms.

“Five exploding arrows, as requested.” A pause as he gives a sly smile. “Three of them should pack a little extra punch this time. And because you’re my favourite... I’ve made something a little extra with whatever materials I had leftover. Don’t tell the others.” When she opens the parcel she would see the unmistakable and perilous siege arrow.
