Colorune Day 3: Perseverence
DAY 3!! ALTERED
I will be swapping around from this to inktober and suptober throughout the month but at the moment I'm obsessed with the dsytoper prompt list.
It's helping me learn more about my ocs and push my limits. Somthing I like to do with October prompts is use a brush or art supply I havnt used or have little practice in.
I messed around with a chalk pastel brush for this one!
Project Bird Cage as a whole has always been to answer the question " Can the environments change how a bond forms within Moon children and if so is it possible to control said bond?". We belive our finding not only answer this question but also help us understand more about the anomalousplanetoids (or moon) gene.
It's very rare to find a Moon Child who has a physical attribute as their bond, however in cases ,such as Damian Crow , it is easy to manipulate the gene into forming as one. The boy was mostly left to his own devices inside the experiment area, other than the bi-weekly checkup the higher-up had us do, within this time the only contact he had with the outside world was his birds.
As a team we slowly "manipulated" and forced the gene into the same high risk situation repetitively in hopes to coherse it to form as we wanted. We where successful in this process and managed to get the gene to grow two giant black wing from Subject Crows back. This Is a giant discovery and will hopefully bring us a huge step forward in our search-
Prompt: Bon Appetit
It's your birthday, so Vincent steps out of his comfort zone to try and make you something special.

Buck, as Eddie is just finding out, doesn’t like needles. Like, really, really doesn’t like needles. The “pass out when you see one” kind of not liking needles. Eddie somehow never knew this before, and honestly, if it weren’t for Buck about to have a panic attack in front of him, he wouldn’t have believed it. But right now he believes it, because the moment Eddie mentioned that he’s gonna have to stitch up the nasty, very heavily bleeding gash in Buck’s thigh, Buck had gone even paler than he already was and started trembling.

50 Day Challenge: Omoi
Prompt 3: Tell this story: "And it was that exact moment that the power came back on…"
Song Inspiration: BTS - Blanket Kick
“HEY! Get back here and open this door!” Omoi was banging the closet door that locked behind them, but with the music and noise from the celebration, no one could hear him. Though it didn’t hurt to hope.
“I don’t think anyone can hear us.” Omoi went rigid as he realized who was stuck with him. He couldn’t see through the darkness, but his right hand was wrapped around the shoulder of a very petite body that could only belong to one person. Tsubaki Hikari. His face burned at their proximity before registering her words. She sounded disappointed that no one would let come to their rescue. Well, she probably didn’t want to be stuck in this closet with him. They were so close he could feel her heartbeat getting faster. Wait, what if she lodged a sexual harassment complaint to her kage, leading their villages to breaking their alliance, and causing the fifth shinobi war?! They had just allied to end the fourth!
He tried to subtly lean back to give her some space, only to smack his head against a shelf. “Ouch!” Rubbing the back of his head with his left hand, he felt his eyes start to tear from the pain. A small glowing hand pressed again his chest and the pain slowly ebbed away.
“Are you alright, Omoi-san? That sounded like a hard hit.” The green glow was just enough to illuminate their faces and Omoi was caught in the soft look in her eyes. She broke his gaze as she started feeling her way along the wall, “Don’t worry. I think I saw the light switch while I was soothing your pain.”
Omoi wasn’t sure he heard her properly. Why did they need to turn on the light again? Wait. She is probably planning to retaliate against him for getting them into this situation. Did she know that Darui, Shi, and Karui locked them inside to get him to talk to her? Did she already know that he’s had a crush on her since their joint mission? Did she overhear them making fun of him for not saying a word around him despite being known as a chatterbox?! Was she disgusted by his unprofessional attitude despite being one of Kumo’s elite?! Will she refuse to work with Kumo shinobi, leading to rumors about the unprofessionalism of Kumo shinobi which will cause their village to suffer from a drop in missions?!
Fictober 2019 Day 3–“Now? Now you listen to me?”
There was no denying that Zak and Fiskerton were best friends. After everything they had been through together, it was only right to see them together nearly every moment. Even someone who wasn’t familiar with cryptids was able to appreciate the special bond shared between the young teen and the friendly gorilla-cat.
However, they were not immune to disagreements. As expected of any pair of brothers, they had their fair share of fights every now and then. Today was one of those days.
Drew was enjoying a quiet cup of tea in the kitchen one afternoon when her sixteen year-old son came stomping in. He plopped down at the table in the seat across from his mother, scowling.
“Everything okay, Zak?”
Zak scoffed.
“Fisk is so sensitive. He’s been mad at me since this morning, and he still won’t talk to me. He won’t even take off the headphones that I lent him to let me apologize.”
Drew couldn’t help the smirk. Although she couldn’t remember many fights she and Doyle had had before they had been separated, she remembered plenty of the ones they had in recent years. Now that she had been reunited with her brother, she was much less worried about any petty disagreement that she witnessed between Zak and Fiskerton.
“What exactly did you say to make him mad at you?”
Zak sighed.
“I may have said he smells like wet dog.”
Drew laughed.
“To be fair, you don’t always smell like a fresh garden either, kiddo.”
“No, but you don’t see me giving you the cold shoulder like a baby when you tell me to take a shower. Seriously, he is such a baby sometimes.”
“Hey!”
Their attention was drawn to the entrance of the kitchen. Fiskerton was standing there, Zak’s headphones hanging off his neck.
“Oh crap,” Zak said. “Fisk, wait, I didn’t mean—“
Fiskerton stormed off, mumbling angrily to himself. Zak, with a frustrated groan, let his head drop down on the table, face first, in defeat.
“Now? Now he listens to me?”
Drew chuckled lightly, placing a sympathetic hand on her son’s shoulder.
…
For those of you who don’t know me very well, The Secret Saturdays was my absolute favorite cartoon as a kid. It was actually the show that got me into fanfiction and fandom, and it’s also the show that inspired me to start writing. I owe a lot to Jay Stephens, and since today is the show’s 11-year anniversary, I thought I’d honor it by including it in my Fictober challenge. It really deserved a lot more love than it got...I’m incredibly grateful for everything it has given me.
My writing still feels pretty choppy and rough, but I’m definitely feeling myself improve and I feel like the flow is slowly coming back! I’m so excited and proud of myself for doing this.
