BRISTOL
night & day (day edition)
Tell me, can we stay right here and never leave? I could go on and on. But time is not on our side
so here’s a thing i’m sooo bad at knowing the meanings of the songs so i was wondering if you know them to tell the meaning of the night & day (day edition) songs
Basically, I can’t really tell what the real meaning behind each song is, because everyone can it interpret in a different way, so I am just gonna tell you how I interpreted it! :)
Just my type: This song is about someone who drives you crazy, like she lets you down, then gets you high, but you like it somehow but you don’t know why. Maybe she ignites the fire in you?
Hair too long: This song describes someone who goes out and does things their (ex)girl hated, hence the lyric “I’ll go and grow my hair too long, sing your least favourite song at the top of my lungs”, it’s a bit spiteful like doing those things to kinda annoy that girl.
Talk later: This song could have many meanings, I think it’s about someone who is in a club seeing his potential love interest and thinks “Wow, I want that person”, but things are getting complicated “putting labels on things makes them complicated” and it’s about getting intimate with someone and at the end it’s clear “looking in the mirror, my vision’s getting clearer”.
Too good to be true: it’s about someone who is literally too good to be true in your eyes, like that person is too perfect to believe that this person is even real.
For you: It’s about two people who broke up but somehow never lost the connection to each other. They sing about how much their partner still means to them and that they will always be there for them. No matter what, no matter when, they always will make sure that their love is safe and comfortable. Even though so much time passed they will always take care.
What your father says: This song is about that the father of the girl doesn’t like her boyfriend and they sing how she should forget that and not give a damn about what he thinks or what he says. Like “come with me and have a great time.”
Cheap Wine: The one where you drink so much cheap wine to numb the pain and to drink away the barriers until you’re not really able to control what you say anymore. You spill all the true details, so thing song is all about honesty.
Personal: Clearly it’s about a boy who songs directly to the girl saying that she would be much better with him instead of the other guy.
Time is not on our side: this is about the issue that time is literally running away. You want to be with that special someone 24/7, but you don’t have the time to do that forever, because everything ends at some point.
Pictures of us: about two people who went separate ways, the singer questioning himself is she even remembers him. He starts looking at pictures of them, remembering the beautiful moments they shared with each other that summer. Those pictures don’t do justice what they actually felt for each other. The connection and feelings were stronger than the pictures show.
So those were the tracks of the Day Edition :)
