The day after the ACS event had been busy in the ER, but then again most days were. She had gotten puked on a lot, even in the late morning hours. After her shift ended at 2pm, Lauren went straight home to her apartment to get some well-earned hours of sleep. She woke again in the evening, but didn't do much except for going to the store. The rest of the day was spent in peace, watching movies in front of her TV.
The next day, her shift started early. There was nothing unusual, so time flew by. Shortly before noon, she decided to take her lunch break, which meant she had to check her blood sugar level and inject herself with insulin. It was annoying, but it had to be done. Lauren had pretty much gotten used to her disease in the past few years, it was nothing she couldn't deal with. Opening her locker, she reached for her purse and grabbed her insulin-pen.
