This was not how he had dreamed his first visit going, with his lip bleeding ectoplasm onto the surface and forever ruining any further microbe research Earth wanted to make.

"Moon's haunted."

He stood up, turned his shaky legs into a wispy tail, and flew back into the battle.

You’ve seen him a thousand times before on screens, billboards, magazines at the fuckin’ check-out line. But to see him now—his fiery hair pressed to the first pillowcases you ever bought, his freckled chest rising and falling with every sleep-addled breath? 

Jesus, it makes your heart swell and your dick hard.

It doesn’t seem real. Not the chance meeting nor the night that followed. His lips had felt incredible against your skin; the press of his hips perfect against the swell of your ass.

You close your eyes, then open them again. 

He’s still there.

Just checking.

Eddie Month Day Twenty-two: First Concert

Eddie is laying on his bed, a cigarette dangling out of his mouth and his feet propped up against the wall and fiddling with his guitar, trying to nail a riff in a Metallica song he’s been listening to on a loop when there’s a soft knock on his door. 

“Come in!” Eddie mumbles around his cigarette and looks upside down at Wayne as he opens the door.

Wayne steps forward and tosses an envelope onto Eddie’s chest. Eddie’s brow furrows and he reaches over to stick his cigarette in the ashtray by the bed before snatching up the envelope.

“What’s this?”

Wayne huffs out a laugh. “Well, open it, son.”

Eddie stares at him, confusion plastered on his face as he rips open the envelope and pulls out–

TWO TICKETS TO SEE METALLICA. 

“No fucking way.” Eddie’s wide eyes flash back up to Wayne. “This is a joke, right?”

Wayne chuckles. “I sure hope not. Had to work three extra shifts to get those. S’why they’re a little late. Merry Christmas, kid.” 

Eddie pushes his guitar over onto the bed and rolls to sit up, bouncing up and down on the bed, a wide grin pulling at his face as he clutches the tickets. He springs forward off the bed, wrapping his arms tight around Wayne. “Thanks, old man.” 

Wayne grunts and pulls back, patting Eddie’s shoulder before he turns to leave. “Just as long as I don’t have to go with ya.” 

Eddie rolls his eyes as Wayne shuts the door and stares down at what is absolutely the best gift someone has ever given him.

Whumptober 2022: Day 22 - Pick your Poison 

Alternative Prompt #9: Quicksand 

Summary: Young Justice find themselves in a tough situation when half of their team ends up trapped in quicksand during a mission.

Tim should know by now that anything could happen while on a mission with his team. Working with Kon, Bart and Cassie always ends up with them in some sort of unspeakable situation. No mission is ever smooth sailing when it’s the four of them. Tim knows he’s sometimes guilty of being the reason why they occasionally get into trouble, this time, however, it isn’t actually his fault. He doesn’t know whose fault it is but he definitely knows it’s not his.

Over the last several years he’s found himself in some rather questionable situations and it’s not very often he admits this, but this is a first.

He’s stuck in quicksand. Well, he and Bart are stuck in quicksand. Kon and Cassie are currently hovering at the edge of the pit panicking over what to do to get the two of them out. Tim tries to shift but predictably he gets nowhere, the sand has completely surrounded his lower body, cementing his legs together making it impossible to move. It’s a weird sensation where he can feel the pressure of the sand against his legs and hips. Of course he’s trying his best to not let himself panic, panicking and trying to scramble out of the sand in a mad hurry isn’t going to achieve anything.

Next to him Bart isn’t as composed as he is. The speedster is panicking and trying to squirm his way out of the sand, even vibrating on the spot to achieve that, however all he's doing is making himself sink deeper into the sand, and by some extension also Tim.

“Oh my god are we gonna die here! This is it! This is the end of our story, bested by quicksand of all things.”

Leaning over and grabbing Bart’s hand Tim gets his friend to look at him. “Bart! Look at me,” when wild eyes turn to him, Tim attempts to try and calm him down. “Freaking out and trying to super speed your way out of here isn’t going to help. All you’re doing is causing us to sink deeper. Speed isn’t going to help us here. Slow down and think about this logically.”

Bart stops vibrating and takes a deep breath although he still looks panicked. “Speed is all I have, how else are we going to get out of here. I can’t move my legs!”

“What if we just pull you out?”

The unexpected voice comes from above and Tim looks up to find both Cassie and Kon hovering above them, the two of them flown over the sand to be by them.

Before Tim could protest against the idea, Kon is already reaching for Bart. The speedster immediately latches onto the Kryptonian and Kon flies up beginning to pull Bart out of the sand. Tim pulls a face when he sees Bart’s body stretch which only results with him not going anywhere. When they try again with the same results Tim puts a stop to it.

“That’s not helping! Just stop it.” He snaps. His friends send him identical looks that he doesn’t bother trying to decipher. “Kon, let Bart go.”

Kon frowns at him and reluctantly lets Bart go. Once that's done, Tim takes a deep breath to settle himself before turning to the speedster.

“Right what we need to do is start wiggling our legs as much as we can, carefully. You need to try and create a pocket in the sand so any excess water can trickle down and start to loosen the sand around our legs.” Tim instructs Bart.

From above Kon makes a noise. “Should I ask how you know about this?”

Tim rolls his eyes as he starts wiggling his own legs as much as he could, it feels like he’s working against cement. As he doesn’t grace Kon with an answer Cassie smacks the Kryptonian’s shoulder in favour instead, ignoring what is going on above him Tim turns to Bart again. He doesn’t know if Bart actually knows how to get out of quicksand, his friend is rather intelligent after all, but it appears like having Tim instructing him seems to help keeping him calm about the situation.

“Once your legs start to become free, lay back and dispute your weight, this will help you float.”

Tim stops his movements so he could see what Bart is doing. “When you’re leaning back as much as you can start pulling yourself backwards, do backstroke to propel yourself backwards. Kon, once his legs begin to surface carefully drag him out of the sand. Cassie I want you to do the same for me in a moment.”

Bart listens to his instructions and starts doing what he suggested. It takes a while but eventually Bart leans back and begins to drag himself backwards, Kon doesn’t hesitate to grab Bart by the shoulders to start pulling him out of the sand. Once the speedster’s feet show Kon scoops Bart up and flies him across the side of the pit where it’s solid and safe.

Above him Cassie clicks her tongue. “C’mon Tim. Your turn. Bart’s safe now it’s time to get yourself out of there. Unless you fancy staying here?” The question at the end is asked in a teasing tone to which Tim only rolls his eyes at.

Listening to his own instructions Tim tries to get himself free. It takes work and he has to pause for a moment to catch his breath but eventually he works his legs enough to get them loose and leans back. Using the strength he could muster he starts pulling himself backwards and gradually out of the sand. Thankfully he doesn’t have to wait long before Cassie is there grabbing his shoulders and begins to drag him backwards, therefore doing most of the work, and once his legs are free she picks him up and flies them to the side where Kon and Bart are waiting, the latter already up and moving on his legs doing several stretches.

Tim takes a moment to lie on the ground, allowing feeling and his blood to circulate his legs once again. He waves a hand around to his team. “Great job guys. Thanks a bunch.”

Next to him he hears Kon huff and Cassie snort. It’s Cassie who verbally responds with amusement in her tone. “Yeah, lets not get stuck in quicksand again any time soon. This has been fun but it’s one time too many.”

“Agreed. No quicksand in any of our future missions please!” Bart comments with a grin.

Tim laughs, “we certainly can’t promise that because everything we do is unpredictable but we can definitely try to avoid it for sure.”

When he feels ready, Tim sits himself up and then takes Kon’s hand when his best friend offers it to him. Kon pulls him up right and Tim grips tightly onto Kon’s shoulder when he feels himself become unsteady on his legs.

“You okay?” Kon asks him, his hands holding onto Tim’s arm helping to keep him upright.

Tim swallows and takes a deep breath as he lets go of Kon. “Yeah, I’m good. Just a little unsteady. I’ll be fine. Anyway we really ought to get moving, that’s set us back quite a few hours behind schedule.”

Trusting his word Kon doesn’t push the subject and lets Tim go but he doesn’t move too far away from him. Together the four of them continue onwards away from the quicksand to continue with their mission.
