“When are you coming home?” A sweet voice greeted that made your morning less stressful. It seems like he just woke up basing from his voice. You chuckled and held the phone tightly on ears.
“I’ll be home soon baby. For the mean time just wait for your—“
You heard the doorbell rang at the other side of the phone, and you knew who it was when you heard the excited scream from the other line. “DAAADDYYYY! YOU’RE HOOOMEEE~” You suppressed your giggles, afraid that it might distract your co-workers. “Hey baby, did Mommy leave already?” The question was faint yet you heard it very clearly, making you feel sorry for leaving your son like that. But what can you do? Duty calls after all. “Yes.” You heard your son replied. “Oh, Well, how about you call her?”
“She’s on the other line!” And just like that, the phone was travelled with light taps of your son’s little feet.
“Is this Mommy?—Okay, thanks baby—Hey Y/n, sorry I came a little late.” You heard him say. But you shook your head as if he can see you.
“No~ It’s alright Brian, I just left too early, sorry for leaving him like that.”
You heard him chuckle, which made you miss your husband more. It’s been a month since you and Brian didn’t have proper timings in terms of seeing and feeling each other’s presence. You only see him in the morning after waking up early beside you, sleeping soundly, and when he goes home from their schedules, you are already asleep.
“Don’t worry Y/n, it’s fine. I came and that what matters. Hey, come home early today, alright? This is the first time in a while that I’ll be seeing you properly.”

With a content and happy heart, you were motivated to finish your work early. You just want to go home and be with your family. You miss the nights where you and Brian were present, just watching movies and joking with your son and watching him falling asleep on the couch.
Smiling from the memory, you quickly did your work.

It was 7 pm and it was time for you to go home. Excitement filled you in as you rode back home waiting to reunite with your father and son. You opened the door of your house, expecting a hug nuzzle on your legs but you were greeted with a very VERY messy living room. You sighed. “What the heck Brian.” Not letting your temperature rise, you silently went to your room just to see your husband and son fast asleep on the bed. Clearly they were playing around and got tired. Brian was on the far right of the bed and your son was on the left side, sleeping in a funny position. Instead getting pissed because they fell asleep before you arrived, you smiled at the sight and quietly took a picture of them. You then decided to take a shower so that you can make dinner.
Finally finishing, you slowly went up to Brian and slowly woke him up. “Honey? Brian?” You called out.
He hummed in response as he fluttered his eyes open. “Y/n.. You're here—I’m sorry, I fell asleep—we were playing and then I was having fun with our son—“
“Shh, I know, I know. I got it aryt? I'm not mad." You chuckled. "How about dinner?" You asked him as you put a blanket on your sleeping son knowing that he won't wake up any moment with any chance now. "Can we have it later?" Asked Brian, voice raspy from sleep. "But it's 8?"
"I don't want to get up Y/n~~" He whined as he curls himself into a ball. This guy's also acts like your son. No wonder they get along. Chuckling, you also took another blanket to cover him up. But before you even put it over him he spoke out.
"Y/n? Come here." He said with close eyes, patting the space beside him. Not complaining, you climb up to the bed and layed down. You smiled at how childlike is Brian right now. Brushing up his hair, you saw him softly smile as he slowly wrapped his arms around your frame burying his face on your neck. "Oh God, Y/n, I miss you so much." You felt his breath on your neck. Smiling, you caress his back in a circular motion. "I miss you too Brian."
Brian pulled you out from the hug, he looked at you in the eyes. He smiled. "How was work?"
"Stressful. But it was fine."
"Hmm. Good job hon."
You uttered a thanks under your breath, and as soon as you said it, you felt something soft over your forehead. A kiss that made you feel important throughout the years. With a pink shade cheek, you snuggled closer to his chest as you felt him chuckle. You just missed your man so much.
"Mommy?"
"Baby you're awake. How about eating dinner?"
Confuse to why your child didn't replied, you then saw him climbing to Brian's side, wiggled you out from your husband's grip and then fell between the two of you. Laughing sofly because of the cute antic, you kissed your son goodnight as he drifted again to sleep. "Your son is so like you." You commented. "I know. You love me for being like that though."
"Oh goodness me." You heard him chuckled. "Let's just sleep."
"I was waiting for you to say that."
Sure your plan didn't went the way you want it to be. But being in your husbands arms, with your son in the middle is still the perfect than those you planned. You were about to sleep, finally getting rest but without any signs, Brian went down, slowly pressing his lips against yours. "Goodnight Y/n." Smiling, you finally went to dreamland.
