Its been so amazing and I’m beyond appreciative of every story and moment that we’ve had together, and for all my words I can’t explain just how much all of this has meant to me, how much I’ve enjoyed it all, and how awesome it is to have you as a friend. Original Characters // SFW // SWTOR
-------------------
i. Daya & Tal
Daya nursed her cup of caf and blinked slowly out across the pinks and purple dudes of a spring Tatooine sunrise. Not yet did she allow the plans for the day to run amok in her head, rather, she savored the freshly-bought beans, the cool scent of the air filter, and the soft beating of foot prints that could only belong to one person.
Wrapping his arms around her, Talcyn rested his head on her shoulder with a yawn, content to return to sleeping right then and there. “You get up too early.” Sleepily, he whined, burying his face into the crook of her neck.
“Oh habits are hard to break, sleepyhead.” Affectionately, she pressed a kiss into his auburn hair. “Kids more so than military training.”
He huffed in response, muffled by the soft skin of her neck. Tal ran his hands along her waist and down her arms, stealing away the mug of caf. He took a sip over her shoulder, and made a face. She laughed as she took it back from him.
“Too much sugar?” She teased.
Tal brushed his fingers past her navel, rolling his head back to look her in the eye; gold like the sands in the sunlight meeting the first pale blue light of morning. “I don’t know how you drink that,”
“I can make you a cup.” Daya started to move away but Tal held her fast, and they both watched the twin suns rise up over the horizon.
“Did you know I’d basically fallen in love with you by the time we left Coruscant?” Tal said, a loving whisper in her ear bearing the comfort of years of companionship.
“So you like to say.” She smiled, and careful of her horns, leaned her head against his. They were quiet a minute more.
“Hey Tal?”
“Yes love?”
“Thanks.” With a murmur, Daya set her mug down, laying her arms over his, basking in the low light and their love.
“You’ll have to be more specific.” He smiled and pressed a kiss to her neck. “What about?”
“For coming to talk to me, offer your help, all those years ago on Ord Mantel.” Ever the romantic, she sighed dreamily, snuggling back into his embrace. “I dont know where I’d be without you that day.”
“Well not at home with such a handsome husband and beautiful family. A far more average looking one, most like.” He huffed at the humorous and ludicrous thought: he’d always be Daya’s, and her always his.
Daya laughed, shielding her eyes as the light flooded their little kitchen. “Love you too.”
ii. Astra & Cael
It’d been a long time since Cael had figured to call himself a jedi. Once he was more Sith he supposed, but now, now he was simply himself, at his own peace and balance.
And with Astra, always with Astra.
He broke his casual meditation to steal a glance at the darling woman fiing her jewelry in the mirror by the refresher. Even traveling the galaxy as artifact hunters, or well, an overeager archaeologist and her partner the bodyguard, Astra kept herself in beautiful shape, fierce and stunning as much in battle or in an excavation as she did dressed up for a party, or just waking up on their ship. He caught the flash of the worn gold wedding band, and his heart hopped with pleasure.
Feeling him down their bond, one more pronounced and lasting than the metal ring on her finger, she turned and smiled, narrowing her bright yellow eyes as she sauntered over, well aware at how much he appreciated the sway of her hips.
“You can touch too if you want.” She teased, stepping up behind him, tilting his head back with both hands to kiss him upside down.
“You’re insatiable.” A charming and lazy grin split his lips, and he blinked at her affectionately.
“And you’ve had so much practice now, You’ve gotten immeasurably better.” She matched his expression with a wicked grin of her own, playfulness sparking through her eyes.
Cael groaned, and a blush reached his cheeks before he could stop himself. “That’s true, but honestly Astra, you can’t judge me so harshly, you were my first after all.”
“I try and forget about it.” She grimaced good-naturedly, but there remained a kernel of truth there. Stars he’d been really bad at well.... everything.
If only to dispel his embarrassment, Cael huffed a laugh and turned, so, still on his knees, he faced Astra, his hands on the back of her legs. “Thank you.”
“You dont have to thank me for touching me darling, as potent as I am.” She responded wryly, running her scarlet fingers through his dark hair. Cael continued smiling, their banter was half the fun.
“Thank you for staying, when I gave you every reason not to ever trust me again.”
Her toying expression softened, he’d never stop punishing himself. Maybe that was unnecessary, but it remained proof of his conviction. She knew the truth, could sense it intrinsically in the connection between them. “Thank you for giving me reasons not to.”
iii Azred & Jac
Jac hit the ground with a cloud of dust and an ‘oof’.
His training saber spun away from him across the dirt, as he sensed Azred’s slow prowl come to a halt several paces from him. Jac felt worry, and then humor when he gave the other jedi a cheeky grin, coming off his partner, and readily accepted the hand that he sensed offered.
‘You alright?’ Azred’s thought stole his attention from whatever the older master was saying to the assembled group.
‘Seems like were back to being even.’ Jac rolled his shoulders nonchalantly, amused at Az’s stray reaction to his dust covered robes.
‘No Im definitely up by one now.’ Az shot back, ‘I beat you also back when we were at that conference on Corellia.’
‘Beating me when I didn’t know we were dueling doesn’t count.’ Jac protested in thought.
“Tal’zayor, Lenn. Are you two paying any attention to what Im saying?” The sharp tone of the Battlemaster, punctured the private conversation between the two young knights. Az at least had the deference to look ashamed.
“We were Master, I apologize on behalf of my friend here.” Azred quickly replied with a nod of defference.
‘Kiss-ass.’
‘Just an ass.’
Unaware of the boy’s private conversation, the older Jedi continued addressing the assembled padawans. “As I was saying, if we examine Knight Lenn’s form you can clearly see....”
Yawn! Already, Jac tuned him back out, getting a small sense of shame for the act, not sure if it was from Azred, or simply Az’s influence on him.
‘You really should be paying attention, he’s making some good points about your balance.’ Az scolded him mentally again.
‘Yes, master, of course master, I’ll do better next time master.’ If there weren’t other’s around, Jac would have flourished to complete his exaggeration. He felt Az hold back a laugh.
‘You’re just grumpy because you’re hungry.’ Even as a thought, Jac picked up the amusement and affection in Az’s voice. About to protest, his stomach rumbled. Azred actually laughed.
“Im sure Ive missed the joke,” The master turned towards the two of them, the picture of sternness and patience, a balance jac had never managed to find “Just what was so funny?”
“Sorry master, it was me.” Cutting off Az, Jac offered a deeper bow than Az had earlier. “It’s nothing you said, Im just... hungry.”
Jac couldn’t see, but he liked to imagine the old jedi rolled his eyes. “Fine fine.” Came the good-natured response, “Class is dismissed, lets all find something to eat before Jacoac here faints from lack of lunch.”With a murmur of chuckles at Jac’s expense, the cluster of padawans broke off, following the familiar path back to the temple.
As the group left, Jac tried to elbow Az, missing mostly, but the point got across. ‘You're welcome.’ After so long, thought-sharing came with far more instinct than speaking aloud did.
A surge of affection and teasing rushed down the bond, wrapping around Jac as assuredly as if he’d stepped into a sunbeam and Az had embraced him simultaneously. What a pleasure it was to know they had each other. ‘Whatever would I do without your quick thinking?’ Az hummed absently, and in their privacy, dared an arm across Jac’s shoulder’s pulling the taller man close. ‘Im glad you're here.’
Jac left Az to imagine that, flushing with the warmth of the contact, ‘Glad to be so.’
With my Daya and @uldren-sov‘s Talcyn being cute and gross and so so married. OC!Verse.
Day 2 for OC Kiss Week <3
---------------------
Daya rolled of Talcyn with a blissful sigh into the mess of sheets beside him. Thank the stars for their home’s circulation system or even at night Tatooine would be far too warm. Despite the heat that lingered between their bodies in the sweet sweaty aftermath of their orgasms, Daya curled herself closer to Tal. She smiled as he huffed in affection and satisfaction.
“You’re so perfect.” Still slightly breathless, he leaned over, his slick chest to hers to bury her between kisses and their pillows.
She hummed, the spitting image of love, and felt his hands entwining hers more real than the sheets stuck to her back. “No you.” Daya managed the playful retort amidst scattered breaths and little laughs. Her whole body, lax and warm, pleased by the effort in her hips and knees, melted against him. They could argue over who was the better partner (in good humor) forever, but it’d never stop just how much they loved each other, how much better the other was for their collaboration.
“Are you sassing me dear?” Tal grinned, his golden eyes twinkling in the low light of their bedroom. “I’d have thought you were worn out enough to just be sweet and sleepy.”
Daya wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him over her for a kiss, careful to keep her horns from scraping his forehead. “I don’t know darling, I could go a few more times, maybe then I’d be all out of energy.”
Tal released her lips with a drawn out groan and collapsed to her side, face buried in the pillow. He mumbled something that Daya couldn't hear and thus she rolled him over, freeing her arm from under him in the process. “Repeat please~” She teased, brushing his hair back behind his ear as she propped herself up on her elbow.
Talcyn spoke undiscerbally into the pillow once more.
Pouting, Daya rolled him over, still easy after over a year of settled life and one child. “One more time love.”
He did his best to look dramatically exasperated. Rolling his eyes back so far he tilted up his chin and Daya could look upon the fresh love marks around his neck. She did so love to use her mouth. “Id have thought being pregnant and up all day would have tired you out.”
“Am I too much for you darling?” She was breaking out all the pet names now. “It’s your job to satisfy me, you know.” She laughed and leaned in to kiss him once more, smile dancing on her lips.
He accepted the kiss, but not without a theatrical sigh. “I thought the point of early retirement was that I didn't have any jobs anymore. Besides,” Tal’s calloused hand cradled the back of her head and it was his turn to pull her down into a tired and affectionate kiss of his own. “I consider our time together so far from work.”
“You’re my perfect retirement.” She replied, her heart fluttering with love. Stars how she loved this man, and how she knew he loved her.
“Can your perfect retirement get some sleep?” He huffed and let her shift so his wife could be drawn against him, his gorgeous, horned, freckled, little spoon. Tal’s fingers drifted across her belly, a caress softer than a lovers whisper. His stomach jumped in excitement and anticipation. Their family was growing. Their family. Theirs. With luck this one would take after her, stars knew that the galaxy had enough auburn-haired, golden-eyed Vex’s to last a millennia or five.
Daya settled back against him, her dual-heartbeats slowing to drum in time with his. It had always been a humorous point between them that Tal simply couldn't keep up with her libido, but it didn’t bother her in the slightest. He loved her well and in many ways and nearly just as many positions, and he’d never been as active as she was….
“Tal?”
Half-asleep already, Tal’s lips moved against the back of her head, a tired melody of breaths all strung together. “M’yeah’love?”
“You wanna hear a fun fact?” Tal couldn’t see it but Daya was grinning.
Though he’d love to just sleep, humoring her at this point was second nature, as blessedly normal as the scent of her hair and the way she wriggled closer to him when his fingers brushed past her navel. Who would he be without her quirks to keep him on track and on his toes? A lesser man to be sure. “Goforit.”
Daya snickered, the thought in her head far too exciting to keep in. How wonderful it was to have so many jokes between them. “I saw an article on the holo-net the other day, some group did a study, and they found couples who had regular sex trended towards being more flexible, and fitter, turns out you burn a lot of calories, almost like-”
She half shrieked as Tal tightened his arm around her and blew a raspberry into the back of her neck, sending ticklish shivers down her spine, abruptly halting her.
“Babe, do not ruin sex for me. If you use the ‘e’ word I’m getting a divorce right now.” To emphasize, he found her ticklish spot above her hipbone and squeezed, eliciting another loud squawk from his wife. “Shhh,” He teased against her ear “you’ll wake up Tai.”
It was Daya’s turn to huff, laughing as she was. She’d worked him up faster just by implying one could consider sex as exercise, than she had earlier that night. Grinning, the lovestruck darling she was, Daya at least had the sense to sound mollified, and she turned her head towards him. “So does that mean we can’t go again?”
Stars. Tal chuckled, a rich and deep hum full of affection, drawing himself over her for just long enough to press a kiss, just as fiery as the ones they'd shared when they were younger, just the kind that would rile her up, and then collapsed back into the cooling sheets, drawing their thin comforter over top of them. He kissed again the back of her neck, embracing her tightly. Silently he thanked the force or whatever deity up there let his path meet hers. “Tomorrow hun, lets go to bed.”
Wrapped in his arms, Tal more than won, and maybe, MAYBE, Daya had to admit she wasn’t as energetic as she used to be. “Oh fine.” She said, poorly hiding her yawn. Curled against him, honestly there was no place she could imagine she’d rather be, and that same sleepiness began to blanket her.
“I taught myself to read, with a romance holonovel of all things. It was the third book in the series, and I was enamored with hero: a humble noble from Onderon who used his skills and his time to help people. And with him was this poor woman I pretended had saved him in books prior, and they had such a passionate and stunning romance. I wanted that. To be a hero, to be in love, to stay good and humble throughout all of it. Hah, if you told me back then what Id have now, I dont think I would have believed you. But here I am. And I did it.”
Daya’s final thoughts on the way to Yavin and what could be the end. @uldren-sov
——-
Strolling down the docks of Rishi one last time, Daya felt her feet drag across the worn wood, her heart heavy with an anxious yearning. She didn’t want to leave paradise.
Despite the hectic and serious galaxy-saving reason that had brought them here, every hour had been a kind of bliss. A week of sun and salt air bringing out her freckles and streaking her red hair with copper. A week free of a uniform and its tighter rules and resonsibilities. A week with the person she loved.
From where her head lay upon his shoulder, Daya glanced up at Tal, a mixture of emotions fighting for control of his face. He was afraid, just as she was, committing to memory the sights and cacophony of the pirate port, in case this was the end of it. From the measure of his pace, he too was want to linger, ingrained duty and responsibility the only drive of his feet forward. She squeezed his hand, and felt him return the gesture.
How in all the stars were they going to stop Revan? They werent jedi, they didnt have the force or heightened intuition. It was them and their guns versus a 300 year old madman who had the power to influence the Emperor. Even Daya’s own boundless optimism had a hard time with their chances. The begining of an ‘if only’ passed through her mind but was quickly chased away. This was their path and their doing, 5 heavy years of growth. They’d long since passed that fork in the road.
Somehow though, for all her wishes, her nerves, and her fears, at her core Daya was calm. She didn’t know if they’d make it. But there was a firm knowledge that they had done all that they could. And even if Revan proved too much for them… well, there was no one she’d rather spend her last days with.
At last they reached their ships, the end of the docks, the beaches, and bars, the tropical jungles, the pirates, Rishi, and mandalorians behind them. With heavy reluctance Tal stepped away from her, the unraveling of their fingers the last contact; unhidden pain sparkling the gold of his eyes.
Daya put on her most confident smile, and he relaxed a fraction. Not much but enough.
“I’ll see you there.” She said, hoping her voice didnt break.
“Yeah.” He sounded like he hadn’t spoken in years and with no other words he pulled her back into his arms. “I love you Daya.” Over the drumming if his heartbeat she heard him whisper into her hair.
“I love you too.” She replied, gently stroking his back.
Several long moments passed before they seperated. They both appeared simultaneously relieved and and further worried, both on the edge of saying more.
“Race you there darling.” That prompted a small smile.

Codex Text: Daya Kos is a former captain of the Coruscanti gang, The Justicars and has spent her entire life on the streets of the lower city. She is a headstrong, kind-hearted fighter, who has never received any formal training and would rather talk than kill any day. Having been in a gang or around criminals her entire life, Daya is sharp, streetwise, knows 7 different languages, and somehow has remained romantic and optimistic through it all.
Daya is found as part of a sidequest in justicar territory, stemming from a wounded alien near the taxi. The alien tells the player character that the area isn’t safe as the Justicars, once a decent force protecting the inhabitants of lower Coruscant has in recent years become a gang of thugs and are currently split in a 3 way gang war. The alien asks you to pass along a message to their leader, Daya, Prompting the quest chain ‘The Good Die Young’.
Following the quest brings you to Daya who is first seen in the midst of defending her people against a wave of Justicar attackers and after your assistance reveals herself to be a Justicar Captain and working to restore order to the gang and their lower city. After you pass on the message she asks for your assistance for several further tasks, ending in a mission where she joins you as a companion to capture one of the other Justicar Captains. Though the captain forces a fight to the death and their forces surrender it was all a ruse to lure Daya away from her safe house. Returning, Daya and the player have to fight through a wave of enemies and another Justicar leader, only to discover that all of Daya’s people have been killed. The player can offer sympathy (LS points), ask her what she’ll do next, or push her towards revenge (DS points). Regardless of the players choice, Daya expresses her sorrow and her regret and reminds the player that she owes them a debt regardless and asks to come with them. Players may accept or reject her. Rejection means she vanishes from the game.
After several conversations the player can begin flirting with Daya who will slowly reciprocate and offer up information about her past. Players who lean DS will have a much harder time getting her to reciprocate and any player reaching Dark 2 will have her reject their advances entirely.
Main Conversation Points
- Conversation 1 is after Coruscant, Daya is found in the ship’s bridge gazing out the window and mentions that she’s never been in space before.
- Conversations 2 & 3 are about her adjusting to space travel.
- Conversation 4 she begins to talk about her past.
- Conversations 5 - 7 are her full life story and her wondering if this changes anything with the player. Convo 7 has the first flirt.
- Conversation 8 is her expressing how much of a pleasure it’s been to her getting to see all these new places and meet new people.
- Conversation 9 is about the crew so far. It contains a flirt and if the player’s alignment is Neutral/LS Daya will blush and immediately reciprocate.
- Conversation 10 is her requesting a temporary leave of absence to return to Coruscant, having gotten a holo from an old friend. The mission is completed off screen and she returns thanking you for tying up a loose end.
- Conversation 11 has her reveal that she’s got a lot of self doubt in regards to her intelligence and skills, expressing she basically only sees herself good at fighting and thus questions her efforts to do the right thing. The player can assure or berate her, and if they assure her, she bites her lip and promises to think about it.
- Conversation 12 is about her not-so-secret romanticism, and her dream to really be in love with someone. Players taking a serious and respectful route with their responses have an option at the end to flirt with her, and she slyly flirts back.
- Conversation 13 is either of three scenarios: (LS Route) She once more thanks you for giving her this chance and she’s glad to be here to help out and stand at their side. (DS Route) Daya tentatively thanks you, but expresses concern over your actions. (Romance Route) In addition to what’s said in the LS route Daya also lets it be known that she finds herself attracted to you and she wouldn’t mind being more than just a friend. If the player is already romancing someone else she’ll mention that as well, not wanting to step between them. At this point the player can break off the romance, saying they’re flattered but not looking for a romance, or step closer and ask to kiss her. Daya accepts the outcome of either option. Kissing her will prompt a conversation from any other romanced companion and will force you to choose between them.
- Conversation 14 is about the progress of the main story and Daya asks how you’re doing and if she can do anything to help. At this point if in a romance, she starts affectionately referring to the player as ‘hun’ and her ambient dialog is occasionally flirty and suggesting.
- Conversation 15 is the start of her personal quest ‘All’s Well That Ends…’ where Daya will play for you a holo of a strange phone call that she received that claims to know her family.
Personal Quest: Daya will remind the player that she doesn’t remember her family, but it’s something she’s always wanted and asks they accompany her to Nar Shaddaa to meet the contact. Unfortunately it was another ruse, turning out to be the old friend Daya dealt with in her last mission, now the newest leader of the Justicars and wanting to kill Daya and cement their place. A fight ensues, ending with the Justicar Leader begging for mercy, and promising to never come after them again. Daya asks for compassion and the player may either release or kill the Justicar, or defer to Daya. Deferring to Daya results in her wishing the Justicar leader well and reminding them of what the group used to stand for and how they should move back towards that, The Leader says they’ll try and hobbles off screen. The player turns to Daya and asks her if she thinks its best, and assuming the Justicar was spared (either by her or the player) she says she’s confident in the chance the gang might change after all. Players in a romance will then share a kiss.
- Conversation 16 is her reaction after some time to ‘All’s Well That Ends…’ and her thoughts on her own strength and goodness that she doubted back in conversation 11. Now she says she’s become more confident and more learned and it’s all thanks to the player giving her the chance to leave Coruscant.
- Conversation 17 happens mid Chp 3, and Daya asks the player if they’re holding up under the stress. If in a romance she questions whether this is something casual, or if the player is serious about this. Responding with seriousness prompts a kiss, locking in the romance, and from this point her dialog in combat and ambiently reflects her affection for the player.
- Conversation 18 is about the future and what the players dreams are. If in a romance Daya is very flirty and teasing, hoping she can be a long time part of the players life. You have the option to tell her you care but it’s casual (Daya slightly disapproves), ending with a kiss; flirt right back ending with a long drawn out kiss and a fade to black that returns with a suggestive Daya wondering if they’re up for round 3 later; or seriously respond to her, sharing a kiss, and also with a fade to black that returns with a vague conversation that the player can either take as a sexual or romantic event having just occurred.
- Conversation 19 is around Ilum, Daya reflecting on the sacking of Coruscant and her sadness that there doesn’t seem to be any short end to the renewed violence. She talks once more about how she was forced to grow up and wishes that no child should ever had to survive without their family.
- Conversation 20 is post-Makeb Daya expressing (regardless of whether she was an active companion or not) her regret that Makeb couldn’t be saved and that she finds it kind of ironic they’ve gone to all these beautiful places yet there’s always war.
- Conversation 21 is after ‘Forged Alliances’ Daya makes mention of the fact she’s thinking of joining the Republic Army and asks your opinion. You can ask her why she’s considering it and after her explanation either prompt her to join or suggest she stay as a private citizen.
- Conversation 22 is her reaction to the previous conversation, and if prompted to join she says when she feels she can leave the player she’s going to try, or she says she recognizes she can do just as much if not more good being with the player. If the player is DS 4/5 by this point Daya will cooly thank them for the opportunity and regardless of their suggestion in the last conversation, she says she’s leaving for the army ‘because she’ll do more good there’ and will leave the players party for good.
-Conversation 23 is post-Yavin and Daya is her typical optimistic self about their chances, she has a laugh about everything that has happened so far to bring them to this point and reasserts how dear of a friend/partner the player is to her. If in a romance Daya will say she never wants to leave them, hinting at a permanent partnership and the player can propose to her.
Daya returns in KotFE early on, having in the interim either become a spy against Zakuul for Theron and Lana (if the player suggested she not join the army) or as an actually captain in the Republic military having left to assist Admiral Aygo. If the player was friends or in a romance with her she is overjoyed to see them again, and is ready to stand by their side once more. A romanced Daya will have a long deep kiss and nearly cry over how much she missed them which ends with another kiss and a fade to black as the player and Daya walk off screen, catching up. If the player was DS and Daya left them Daya apologizes for leaving and says she wants to give the player another chance and that she’s here should they need her. She can flirt with any faction character who previously didn’t romance her, but nothing will come of it.

Daya/Tal // Original Characters // SWTOR: SoR // SFW
----
The gold of the afternoon gave way into a myriad of glowing oranges and passionate pinks, the sky filled with the sound of gulls and of raucous pirates yelling into the night. Lights flickered on along the creaking boardwalks, and the sun’s heat slowly faded from the black sand beaches. Thus ended another day on the lawless paradise of Rishi.
Daya leaned against Tal, her toes buried in the sand, slowly drifting off to the waves and the nighttime bugs starting their chorus. Two days in the sun had splayed even more freckles across her cheeks and along the curve of her collarbones where her skin was now exposed. She felt Tal absently running his fingers through her longer hair, and looked up to his face, while he in turn had his vision fixed to the horizon.
“Looking for another place for a vacation home?” She asked, stifling a yawn.
The ship captain smiled, and huffed a short laugh. “What you're interested?”
With a sleepy shrug under his arm, Daya dug her toes further into the sand. “Makeb is bust, literally. And despite the lack of hygiene and random gunfire, this place is nothing short of paradise.”
“I hate to break it to you hon, but I don't think there is any place in the galaxy that doesn’t have random gunfire and a lack of hygiene so youre setting the bar pretty low.” He drew her closer, appreciating how snug their bodies could be with her not in her usual armor. “So if you were going to build a dream vacation home here, what would it look like?”
Daya had to think for a while. “It would be two floors, built into an island. Powered by geothermal. I'm thinking lots of glass and plants, and a deck that opens right into a cove or something.”
“Keep going.” He prompted with a kiss to her head.
“Mmmm, there would be lots of torches and ambient lighting, maybe real wood floors.” With her drowsy eyes, she winked at him. “A special little hot tub for us. Oh and a shower, a real shower, not a refresher.”
“What about the bedroom?”
With another long pause, Daya blinked slowly at the violet horizon and the retreating lines of light along the water. “A low bed so you wouldnt bang your knees against it.” Despite her fatigue, laughter danced in the corners of her mouth. “Dreamsilk bedsheets, and the whole ceiling a skylight to look up to see the stars.” An undisguised yawn escaped Daya and she wriggled closer to him. “We could dig out the side of the island, and you could have a huge cavern to park your ships in, and all the workspace you could want.”
Tal’s stomach gave a little pleasant hop. “Your dream vacation home has a space for me?”
Her eyes closed, Daya’s response was simple. “Of course it would.”
As Tal, began to comprehend what a future with Daya could concretely be, she slipped her arm around him. “After all this,” she murmured, “I can’t wait to go back home with you.”
Talcyn blinked at her in surprise, even as she fell asleep against his shoulder. Daya had never called his place home before, and in such classic fashion, she presented the importance of that moment as if it were the simplest thing in the whole world.
Careful not to disturb her, he pressed another kiss to her forehead, and returned his gaze to the shadow silhouettes of the islands out across the bay.
‘Yeah’ he thought, closing his own eyes and leaning back against Daya’s dozing form. ‘After this we’re going home.’
