A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away… (Part 2)
Lady Luck
Original Characters // SFW // SWTOR
First entry for #ockissweek! Alena is @cipher-agent and Jyotii was not prepared. I hope I did her justice <3 <3
--------------------
Cantinas were good for a grand total of two things: alcohol and dancing. And that was the good ones, not the sparkling clean rich-bitch hang outs or the waystops that served off-duty soldiers. The ones that were alive with light and sound, that smelled like sweat and stale liquor and had a blaster mark or two on the walls. The ones with personality and history, just the right mix of dark dealings and ambiance.
Thus Port Nowhere was nothing less than perfect.
For such a short girl, Jyotii cut an imposing figure through the crowd, the lead of a band of Cathar all at the minimum a full head taller than her. She nodded and the group slowly disolved, each pirate in search of their own prefered vices. Rolling her neck, the tawny Cathar narrowed her deep blue eyes on a sabacc table near the bar. Maybe lady luck was on her side tonight.
She settled down, adopting a composure of great relaxation, gesturing to the bartender for a drink. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught the glance of another young Cathar, a girl with bright green eyes and a curious expression. Jyotii winked at her, pleased to earn a slight blush. “Okay. deal me in.” She said to droid monitoring the game.
After a few decent hands, the crowd at the table shuffled, spacers grumbling about their loosings and cursing their various idols of . Jyotii, however, wasn’t yet out for the count, confident she could turn it around in the next few rounds. She stretched languidly, running a hand across her braided scalp, and made a beeline for the bar. Graceful despite her heavy armor, she hopped up on a stool beside the Cathar she’d spotted earlier.
“Hey,” She greeted flicking a clawed nail to the bartender before turning her blue-eyed attention back to the girl beside her. “Never seen you around here before, Id have noticed a cute one like you. What’s your name?”
The other girl smiled, narrowing her eyes at Jyotii, catching the star of her drink in the corner of her mouth. “Alena. If you need to know.”
Jyotii grinned toothily at the tease in the reply. “Alena hmm, pretty name, and whats a cute girl with a pretty name doing all the way out in this hole?”
Alena’s look in response was practiced and coy, maybe surprised, but enjoying the attention. “Probably the same thing you are, a break from the hectic restrictions of core space, and searching for a place to lay a few credits down.”
Jyotii took her drink in one hand from the bartender, delighting in their banter. Alena clearly could hold her own among all the scum and drunks here, no one had bothered her since Jyotii arrived in a way Alena hadn’t handled. Even if she was being purposely elusive, she wasn’t doing it out of fear, just practicality. Jyotii admired a sharp, confident woman.
“It seems you know so much about me, but I know so little about you. What is it you do? Youre too sane for spice running, and too personable to deal in weapons.”
Alena’s smile lit her eyes as she set her finished drink on the bar counter with chiming clink. “Do you want me to spoil the surprise, or do you want to keep guessing and find out?”
”This is going to be fun.”
Pirate Princess Jyotii for your viewing pleasure, she makes the best expressions.
