       she reads simon like he’s a FAVORITE page out of her book, but she bides her time for a moment. she wants to relax & enjoy the jade wolf. isabelle doesn’t exactly understand his MUNDANE interests but she finds his company to be welcoming. simon who became a TOWER of support during her cloudiest times. ❝ so what do you usually order?❞ truthfully, she doesn’t remember the last time she’s SAT down & just took in another person’s presence or just had a normal dinner. isabelle finds simon’s assurances about max, a BANDAID to the fears that she might have. she doesn’t want to LOSE him, doesn’t want to think about him dying. but she had gone through the same thing, so maybe she should try to BUDGE a little bit. maybe. ❝ what do you recommend? ❞

      watching clary & simon’s relationship is like waiting for a car accident to happen. you think things are fine & then suddenly things are SWERVING out of your control & all that’s left is a big IMPACT of what remains. ❝ i just don’t think what you were looking for was what you’d find with clary. trying to convince yourself like that wasn’t going to get you your happy ending.❞ there’s a pause before she flashes him a REASSURING smile. ❝ you are relationship material, any girl is LUCKY to have you.❞ she’ll leave her DISTASTE about love at the back of her THROAT, she wasn’t trying to crush any more of his spirit.

"I've always wanted a love like Leia and Solo."

        a FAMILIAR look of a smile rests on burgundy lips as she listens to simon. spending time with him brought about PEACEFUL days on the beach among the WRECKAGE of shadowhunter & downworlder business. most of the time when he tells her about star wars, they are in her bed & he’s reciting it like it’s one of the ACCORDS. only simon could make star wars a bed time story & she’d slowly drift into sleep. then he would try to quiz her even after their morning & she swears he probably finds comfort in her remembering some of his nerdy things. isabelle will never ADMIT she likes all the nerd culture he introduces to her. ❝i remember her. your words exactly, a rebel without a cause. but she’s strong. ❞

        sable locks are SPILLED along silk sheets and a casper pillow, tendrils that follow along like wisps of smoke as she sits up. ❝ do you want a love as epic as that? ❞ simon has seen all the sides of isabelle she assumed she LOCKED up, put in a vault of insecurities that she doesn’t want the world to see. varnished red fingertips reach for his face, caressing his cheek adoringly. her face softening like cookie dough batter. but isabelle has not yet confessed those three words, scared that she might be feeling too much because she DRIPS in passion. what if simon doesn’t feel the same way? she thinks he deserves the GREATEST love, something as pure as he is despite being CURSED with immortality. after every failed relationships they’ve both had isn’t it funny that they found each other? she knows what they do is something more than friends, LONGING looks, the feeling of warmth that spreads in her chest when she sees him. she’d never let anyone in before like this, simon is the EXCEPTION. 

        ❝ to be fair they are couple goals. am i really leia when i’m always saving you? ❞ she laughs it off & she knows one day, far off in the future he’ll say i love you. then she’ll tell him: I KNOW. then she’ll think all is right in the world. ❝ can we have a MOVIE night when we’re both free? just so you know this doesn’t make me a nerd and if you tell anyone we aren’t going to the JADE WOLF to order takeout. ❞
