Running through all of December, this event is about making fan works for Guillermo del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia trilogy (Trollhunter, 3Below, Wizards)!
How to Participate
Create any fanfics, fan art, gifs, or any other works using these prompts during December! Feeling like only doing some prompts? Great! You don’t have to do all prompts! Just make sure to tag #DaylightDecember (no spaces) and/or tag the blog @daylightdecember in the post!

Daylight December: Home
Sup, mates! I want to thank everyone that has reposted some of my one-shots for this! Means the world to me seeing that people really enjoy them! Even if they have been just really fast write-ups of mine lol.
I hope you guys enjoy the rest of them! I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do with exams coming up for me, but I'm gonna try and do as many as I can. :)

Home is where the heart is.
The saying was cliché, but I learned rather quickly when I was sixteen that it was true.
Nothing like dropping everything you know to adventure off to New Jersey with your half-troll boyfriend can do that to you.
Jumping from town to town and place to place with a horde of trolls makes one realize rather quickly what truly matters and what doesn't.
An insulated home with electricity was not one to them.
I couldn't help but smile as I watched Jim shake around whatever it was that within his cooking pan. A large smile on his face as he glanced over toward his best friend trying to steal a piece of whatever it was that he was making.
But he was.
"Hey! Keep your hands out of it!"
"Aw, come on! I haven't had your cooking in what feels like years! It's just a taste." He tried to reach out for the contents of the pan once more but was swatted away by Jim once more. A smile gracing my lips as I saw the pure joy that was flowing from their interaction.
Home was where your heart is, that's for sure.
"I know if Nuñez asked she'll get a taste!" Jim nudged his best friend in the side before looking over toward me.
"Do you?" I just have him a sweet smile as I propped up my elbows onto the counter I was sitting before.
"No. I'm quite content." A smile appeared on his face as a joyful feeling fluttered through my chest.
And mine is with him.
It didn't matter how far we traveled or what form he took, it was always with him.
Toby flung his arm over Jim's shoulder before shooting me a half-grin.
And all the friends we shared. Either on the way or from the very beginning.
"Doesn't mean I'm content though!" Toby grabbed a fork from beside Jim and scooped up a piece of whatever it was that Jim was making and shoved it into his mouth without hesitation. "Victory!" The word came out as a jumbled mess as Jim just rolled his eyes at his best friend. My smile only widening at the interaction.
Jim turned his attention toward me once more as a smile took over his face.
"Not really a victory when it's just going to make everything take longer." He shook the pan once more before turning off the stove burner he was using. "Sure you don't want any?"
"No, like I said," I brought up my hands and placed my chin into them. "I'm quite content."
"I'm starting to think this is not about the food anymore." He leaned against the counter and made it so that we were only a few inches apart from each other.
"Never was." His smile widened just the slightest.
"What are you so content about then?"
Because we're home. Like we always were.
The thought caused my smile to grow in size as I took my face out of my hands.
"Just happy, that's all." I reached out and took his face into my hands. My thumb brushing the scar that was on his left cheek.
"Happy to be home?"
"I've always been home with you." The words came out barely above a whisper as I pressed my forehead against his. "As always."
"Okay, I love you guys, but you two are sickenly sweet and I forgot about that. I might actually get diabetes watching you two." Jim and I shared a simple laugh before pulling apart so Jim could finish whatever it was that he was cooking. All while one simple idea rang through my head.
Sure is wonderful to be home.
