Kevin/Allison time because I never see any content for this pairing, but honestly they would make such a power couple and judge people so hard together

Kevin and Allison hooking up eventually was kind of inevitable, but they both kept trying to convince themselves that they would never let it happen anyways

Because sure, they’re both attractive people

But it would complicate the team dynamic for sure if they slept together

And their personalities are both too big and neither wants to compromise with the other’s competing personality just because the other is hot

And Allison doesn’t want to date Kevin

And, oh god, what if she sleeps with him and then he starts following her around like he follows Andrew around?

But then one night the team goes out together and walks to a local bar

And Allison is horny beyond belief and hasn’t gotten laid in far too long

And the bar has a disastrous selection and she’s kind of disgusted with how it’s making Kevin look more and more appealing

But also, she’s pretty sure Kevin Day is only sexually interested in exy

And he’d probably have some weird exy kink

Gross

And if he even has sex, he probably makes his partners wear a fucking exy uniform

And uses exy terms for sexual things

Ugh

Allison cannot believe she is actually going to go hit on him

She tells herself it’s because he’s there and the only decently attractive option and because for some awful twisted reason she doesn’t understand she has to know if she’s right about his exy kink

And she refuses to admit the possibility that he might dare turn her down, but she figures she can always pretend it was a joke later if Kevin has a stick exy racquet shoved up his ass and doesn’t go for the idea

So, she goes over to him and her voice is all low and seductive and she can’t believe she’s wasting it on Kevin as she tells him to ditch the team and meet her back at her dorm

And then she leaves without waiting for him to react

Kevin stands there for a solid forty-five seconds trying to figure out if that really happened and if Allison was really hitting on him

And it’s not like he hasn’t thought about Allison before

She’s fucking gorgeous

Of course, he has thought about her before

But he’s also thought about what a terrible idea anything happening with her would be

And how even if it wasn’t a bad idea, he does not need a distraction

But also, he’s having a hard time remembering what could really be so awful about the idea now that Allison’s offer is on the table and he has to make a decision on what to do

He knows he’s going to have to tell her that this is a no-strings one-time thing before they start anything, but he decides to meet her

He tries to inconspicuously leave the bar when she’s been gone for a few minutes, but Neil comes over and starts talking to him

And he isn’t taking the hint that Kevin doesn’t want to talk

Kevin does not have the patience for this when Allison is waiting for him and could be starting without him

And this may be his only chance for a one-night thing with her

So, Kevin gives as short of answers as possible and Neil eventually catches on to Kevin’s bad mood enough to finally give up and walk away

Kevin sneaks out a few minutes later and starts walking back to the dorms

Allison is getting pissed at the fact that he didn’t show up and she just left the bar and any chance of other options behind to sit alone and horny, waiting for Kevin to not show up

But then there’s a knock on her door

And when she opens the door to find Kevin, she’s as relieved as she is annoyed that he made her wait so long

So she makes her tone as dismissive as possible as she says, “Took you long enough.”

And he says “Neil wouldn’t shut the fuck up and I didn’t think you’d want me telling him where I was going.”

She still sounds annoyed as she confirms “I don’t.”

But she also stops blocking the door and lets Kevin inside

Kevin says “You’re not going to try to make this a thing, are you? Because if there’s any chance of you wanting anything more than a one-night stand, then I’ll leave.”

And she tells him “Don’t flatter yourself. This is a one-time offer.”

They’re both relieved that they’re on the same page

Kevin opens his mouth to say something else, but Allison doesn’t want to talk anymore and the sound of Kevin’s voice is kind of a turn-off

So, she tells him “Shut up and take off your shirt.”

Allison practically rolls her eyes at how perfectly muscular Kevin’s chest is when his shirt comes off because of fucking course Kevin Day has the perfect physique with no secret hidden flaw that she keeps convincing herself he must have

And he looks annoyingly smug about the way she’s looking at his chest, so she starts making out with him so that she doesn’t have to look at his face and he’ll stop giving her that stupid smirk

Allison Reynolds is proud of her body and Kevin Day is by no means shy and is used to having no privacy in the Nest, so their clothes come off pretty fast and neither is particularly worried about what the other is going to think of their appearance

They’re both good in bed and Kevin doesn’t even bring any weird exy kink related suggestions up

Allison is relieved that he doesn’t, but also a little annoyed because she was sure she was right about the exy kink

And also because her dry spell lasted way too long and now Kevin is ridiculously fucking hot and ridiculously fucking good in bed and honestly, it is not fair that he doesn’t have something horribly wrong with him to keep her from wanting to sleep with him again

Other than when he opens his mouth and suddenly becomes super annoying, of course, but she finds a solution for that in bed

It turns out Kevin is not so bad when he’s got her underwear stuffed in his mouth so that he can’t talk

Afterwards, they swear to never talk about this again and swear it will never happen again

They both really believe that they can just pretend it never happened that easily

But suddenly Kevin is getting more distracted around Allison and her flashy outfits while wasting a lot of energy on making a conscious effort to not be noticeably distracted by her

And suddenly Allison is getting more distracted by Kevin and is disgusted with herself for finding him attractive and sneaking peeks at him when the team is at the gym

And neither of them is getting laid, so they think about their night together while they’re getting themselves off separately, all the while thinking that they still have this under control and definitely are not attracted to each other beyond basic lust that they can keep in check

But then, eventually, they get to the point where they decide: What the fuck, if it’s just lust and they both know that and neither of them is getting laid anywhere else, then what’s the harm in casually hooking up?

After all, it’s not like they haven’t already done it once

So, they start casually hooking up and convincing themselves that it is one hundred percent just a sex thing

But they slowly start to get used to each other and stop taking off so immediately after sex

And they even start somewhat spending time together in limited doses

And they start getting along better in front of the team, even when they’re not particularly interacting

And, what the fuck, they keep noticing that they know little facts about the other that they by no means intentionally learned

Until they come to the horrifying realization that they’ve slipped into the more than sex territory

And they are both mortified that they want a relationship

And they vow to keep their relationship secret because far too many times they have enthusiastically insisted to anyone who would listen that they could not stand to date the other

And that nothing would ever happen between them ever

And that they wouldn’t sleep with each other if they were the last two people on the planet

And any time Nicky made a joke about the possibility, they acted so fucking disgusted by the idea

So, now, they are too stubborn and too concerned about their pride to ever let anyone find out that they are dating

Of course, the Foxes do find out though

But this is getting long and I’ve got to get back to the thing I’m reading

So, I’ll leave this as just a how they get together post for now

And I’m sure I’ll end up writing more of them at various stages of their not-relationship turned secret-relationship turned just a relationship

@vodkakevinday I said I didn’t know when I’d put up more Daynolds content, but then I couldn’t stop thinking about them. So, here we go.

Here’s a little bit about the moment Kevin Day realizes he wants to date Allison and not just mess around with her:

It happens at half-time of a game

The Foxes are in the lead, but only by one point and the other team has more subs so they are bound to be run into the ground second half

Kevin is reaming out the backliners for not carrying their weight

Aaron says “Maybe the point gap wouldn’t be such an issue if you worried more about making your shots than you do about watching the backliners.”

Kevin is livid

He is about to tear Aaron a new one

But then Allison talks before he can

And says “Kevin’s right. Nicky needs to start carrying his weight.”

Everyone is shocked that Allison is agreeing with Kevin

This is unprecedented stuff considering how much time Allison and Kevin have spent bickering and rolling their eyes at each other

But it’s Nicky who says “You aren’t seriously agreeing with Kevin.”

Allison is clearly unimpressed as she says “I didn’t throw away my family and fortune for this. We’re finally not the laughing stock of the league anymore. I’m not going back to losing and being a joke just because you can’t be bothered to practice or carry your weight.”

Kevin is in deep and he knows he can’t pretend he’s not interested in Allison more than just sexually anymore

Because he has never been more attracted to Allison than he is in that moment

I’m definitely going to post more about them later and I’ll also probably write a fic for them at some point, but for now here are a few headcanons about them while they’re sneaking around together:

Matt has to come up with an idea for a history paper and he’s struggling, so he asks the upperclassmen for suggestions

Allison tells him “Go ask Kevin. He’s a history nerd. Isn’t he?”

Matt goes and asks Kevin about it after practice and Kevin is so eager to suggest topics and is spewing out information and Allison has never seen him like this

She’s never seen him talk about anything but exy this much

But this isn’t in the same way he is obsessed with exy where he pushes himself and everyone around him too hard in a grave way where nothing is good enough

Kevin actually doesn’t look all grumpy and unimpressed and isn’t looking down his nose at Matt for not knowing as much as him

He’s actually almost smiling and not his for the camera smile

This is more like the genuine one he got talking to Jeremy Knox

Allison knows she is in trouble because this is a whole new Kevin and she is intrigued, despite her better judgment

And Kevin is so pleased that Allison knows he likes history and sent Matt to him

Because he actually got a chance to talk about history with someone for once

And Matt appreciates the help instead of zoning him out like all the monsters do when he brings up anything history related

And he knows he shouldn’t be so happy about it because he and Allison are supposed to be just having sex

They aren’t even supposed to be friends

And he doesn’t need to get confused and complicate the system just because she noticed his interest in history

So, he pretends like it’s no big deal

And she pretends like she isn’t alarmed about liking the way Kevin talks about history

Even though one of the main reasons she didn’t want anything with Kevin was because virtually everything he said was so annoying

Allison buys that kind of alcohol that’s light purple and glittery and swirls around all pretty when you shake the bottle and then finds out it tastes awful and was a waste of money

(I so don’t remember what the fuck it is called, but I had a friend that bought it for the swirly factor and then was super bummed about the taste)

Allison is disappointed she wasted her money on it and wants to get rid of it so that she can feel better about buying and drinking something that tastes better instead

So, she gives the bottle to Kevin when they’re alone and tells him “Drink this. It’s awful.”

Kevin is that easy to convince, even if it does taste bad

Because it’s still gonna do the job and get him drunk either way

At some point later, Nicky debates buying the same kind of alcohol and Kevin says “Don’t. It tastes like soap.”

Nicky asks when Kevin had the glittery alcohol before, but Kevin just shrugs the question off

At some point when Allison and Kevin have been a secret casual thing for a while, Dan says something about sex while she’s with the rest of the upperclassmen

And Matt notices the way Allison doesn’t complain about how insensitive it is talking about their sex life in front of her when they know she’s having a dry spell

And he is like “Holy shit, you’re sleeping with someone.”

And Allison doesn’t deny it but doesn’t tell them who it is

And she refuses to answer when Dan asks who it is and if they know them

And then Dan asks Renee who it is, but Renee says she doesn’t know

Which is true, but she also did already know that Allison’s been sneaking around with somebody

And Renee has been helping Allison sneak around without asking who it is with

The upperclassmen start debating whether it’s someone they know or someone she met on something like tinder or someone else

Bets are definitely made, but Allison refuses to settle it for them

(Although, the bets do get resolved later, but that’s a story for a different post later)

Also, bonus mental image/self-indulgent section from after their initial one-night stand, but before they start their casual sex arrangement:

At some point when the team is at the gym, Kevin does the Sweaty Boy™ thing and pulls the bottom of his shirt up to wipe the sweat from his face onto his shirt

And Allison is mad at the bare mid-riff when she is trying not to think about Kevin and trying not to sleep with him again

So in my Daynolds plans I was thinking Allison would probably have really good high quality makeup that doesn't smear off, so she doesn't get any on Kevin. But then I remembered Matt getting so excited that Allison's makeup got all streaky and ruined in the rain and I guess that means Kevin Day is going back to his dorm room with makeup on him and Nicky is going to vow to get to the bottom of this mystery.
