Blue: 9 facts about my family

i dont have any siblings

my only grandma died two years ago

i have a lot of cousins tho

my godfather is my uncle

we used to spend much time together but now it isn't so

my uncle has a hamster and two budgies

i'm really close to my uncle's wife

almost every member of my family has the same music taste as i have

my ex best friend is my third cousin

1: What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before? 

I answered this in the last one but I’ma come up with some more for youuu! I wore skirts to work, smoked a cigar, told a dude how I felt and acted upon it rather than running away screaming, actually began to use Tumblr in earnest and started talking to a bunch of beautiful people (though I’m still terrible at it), sought help.

2: Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? 

I kind of just resolve to bring a little more joy and a little less misery to the world; it’s not a resolution, per se - just a hope for the future.

Every other post on my Facebook feed is a freaking baby. Everybody seems to be poppin’ ‘em out lately.

4: Did anyone close to you die? 

Three off the top of my head. There’ve been a lot of deaths this winter.

5: What countries did you visit? 

Woefully, I haven’t done any travelling this year.

6: What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013 

A car, my own flat.

7: What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 

None in particular. 2013’s been wonderful, if not hugely memorable.

8: What was your biggest achievement of the year? 

My job. I love my job.

9: What was your biggest failure? 

I spent too much money this year.

10: Did you suffer illness or injury? 

I’m always getting injured; I’m a fucking idiot. I got sick, like, once, I think?

11: What was the best thing you bought? 

My laptooopppp.

12: Whose behaviour merited celebration? 

Uh. Everyone around me for not murdering me??

13: Whose behaviour made you appalled? 

I, uh, I don’t really have any right to be appalled at anyone else’s behaviour?

14: Where did most of your money go? 

Keeping a roof over my family’s heads.

15: What did you get really, really, really excited about? 

My job, a couple of my graphics — and one of my fics, omg haha — getting over 1k, my laptop…

16: What song will always remind you of 2013?

18: What do you wish you’d done more of? 

Writing.

Worrying.

20: How did you spend Christmas? 

With my mammy! And my old roommate came over to join us. We all had a nice lie in (lol 7am, shut up) and opened presents together around the tree. Mam made bacon and mushroom sandwiches and I pottered around pretending to be useful all the while glued to Pokémon Y (/sighs finally). We all had a lazy morning and chilled out until dinner time; I dressed the table up all pretty and mam finished up dinner - garlic mushrooms and salad for starter, roast beef, because none of us actually like turkey, for our main, and chocolate gateaux and cream for dessert! I ate so much I fell into something of a food coma for about an hour afterwards. Then I walked the dogs, mam and Emily did the washing up, and we all settled to watch Doctor Who — partly, being as I still had my nose buried in my 3DS, my mam had not so subtly convinced me to crack open Zelda so she could play it, and Emily could barely take her eyes off her phone screen… but we were all together in the same room, so it totally counts.

…We’re terrible at being sociable. Of this, we’re fully aware.

It was a nice day. I enjoyed myself.
