Literally everyone who followed me for Sims content can ignore this. I just needed a place to release this that was not my DeviantArt since I don't use that for 3D art. I'll end up posting more ports here as I complete them though! In particular next I want to create a G8.1 Female Drell.
Also, this is my first time prepping anything for release for DAZ Studio, so it's very likely I botched something. Hopefully I didn't, but if there are any issues with loading/install, just let me know! More info & download beneath the cut.
Anyways — ME:LE's Drell ported for the Genesis 8.1 Male figure in DAZ. Comes with;
Full IRAY materials including fullbody textures made by yours truly; all textures were rebaked with custom normals at 4K resolution to make sure they're extra crispy.
Custom fullbody morph for 8.1 Males
Two key anatomical pieces; fused fingers to achieve the signature Drell finger look, and a 'faceplate' piece, which essentially acts as a mask. This is what gives the character the proper Drell frills and fins, as a base resolution morph could not achieve them.
Release comes with all files + a prepped sub-scene of the figure.
Some things to bear in mind are A) mesh smoothing on the faceplate should be set to have a collision item of 'None'. It LOVES to reset back to having the Genesis 8.1 figure as the collision item when loaded in, but if it uses that, then the effect of the faceplate sinking into the neck is ruined. So please make sure this is set on the faceplate to avoid any issues! If you see a weird seam between the head and the torso on the model, 99% of the time it's because this needs to be reset.
B) the fused fingers are not perfect. They're decent, but rely heavily on, again, mesh smoothing in order to not distort wildly. YMMV with poses that have the middle and ring fingers posed differently. Also the seam between the hand and the fused fingers is mildly visible, but can be edited out in post-production pretty easily.
And finally C) Yeah, the eyes are a bit wonk. They suffered mildly in the wrapping process and though I tried to save them, ultimately I decided that they're fine as-is as Drell eyes in-universe are very dark and you hardly see them anyhow.
Credits are to Bioware for the original Drell assets; supplemental textures such as basically everything from the neck down are by myself. Feel free to port this model to Genesis 9 (or backport to earlier versions), edit it, make your own OCs from it, so on, go wild! I only ask that if you include my fullbody textures in any releases of your own that you credit me in it. That's all!
