Hello, dear. Oh yes I saw that. @twopoppies answered about that earlier and I agree with every single word she’s said. When the person on the video mentioned TS I was like okay all this bullshit makes sense now lol to mention Taylor and words like “genuine” in the same sentence should be only allowed as some sort of irony because it totally feels like a joke.

What I think is happening with Harry right now is a rebranding. Slowly but surely. For a while actually but it’s really noticeable on his last few projects. All the guys from 1D ended up a bit “stuck” with a very young fanbase because what they had in the band was so massive and the way it was marketed was so strong that it feels like it’s something that they were never able to get rid of, even with Harry who has this huge fanbase on his own, a lot of his public image remains the same. The way people “understand” Harry remains the same, which is honestly IMO the most inauthentic and manufactured part of him. And it feels like right now he's almost standing on the line between one thing and the other, between old and new.

I’ve seen a lot of people asking why the fuck Harry is trying to sell $20 nail polishes or anti-ageing products for his teenage fans. And the answer is he’s not. He’s rebranding and this is not targeted at a great part of his fans. So if you don’t understand the concept of Pleasing or Commes Des Garçons, this is not for you. This is the most genuine I’ve seen from Harry since… maybe forever? I mean that photoshoot?! Fuck, it’s so Harry! And I can only speak about subjects I’ve knowledge of, so I have no idea about the quality of the products or whatever but marketing and branding it's what I’ve been doing for the past 10 years and from that perspective, Pleasing is flawless. When I read his Dazed interview and then when I read about the brand, it all comes together so perfectly and it makes so much sense. Everything is so well constructed from the eco-ethical and sustainability approach to the diversity on the photoshoot and the “myth of a binary existence”. People who truly understand the value of that on a brand or on an artist is where is he’s targeting. And I have the feeling that is with this particular audience where he can his true self. All I hope is that everything involving Pleasing goes extremely well because he’s in a very delicate position with both DWD (and the stunt) and MP at the moment, so I truly hope that the way he’s putting himself out there on smaller things like Pleasing can bring him some great results on a long run.
