(TW : Talks of child abuse and neglect) Belated sad Saft/Arona & Ravus thoughts for Father's Day
Ravus trying to cope with raising a small baby on his own when he's struggling with his own issues, grieving over taking his own wife's life. He occasionally snaps at baby Nivalis when she's screaming for food or she needs taking care of. Eventually he seeks help from someone who helps take care of her until he gets his plan together for grand theft suitable body that resembles his dead wife and also happens to have dragon blood in it. Infant Saft seeking affection or attention from Ravus when he has no real emotional attachment to her. Saft allowing Ravus to experiment on her because he will occasionally pet her head. Saft is so desperate for some sort of contact from him. (Arona also wants this however she received absolutely NOTHING back because she's just a spare part stored away in case something happens.) Also imagine a possible scenario where Saft and Arona meet in their youth yet neither of them really know who the other is and just speak to each other sometimes through the cavern walls When Ravus gets the results from the experiments he conducts on his kid he wants he occasionally rewards Saft with something she wants be it a brief head pat or a "Well done" he actually doesn't care enough for his own kid to refer to her by her name. Saft probably doesn't know Ravus' name or that he's actually her father either tbh, Just the tall gaunt sad looking man that occasionally speaks a few words to her. The tragedy here is whereas Saft is eventually rescued by the Goldenscales and brought into Gladinus' home and informed about all the shit stuff Ravus has done Arona continued to idolise her father and found him to be the victim in all of this without realising that she was just as badly treated (possibly worse) than her sister.
