mouthwashing has really opened my eyes to the ammount of people who just have horrible views on sexual assault and rape with the excuse of “well im traumatized so i cant be wrong” and its been fucking w me?

i saw one the other day that upset me a lot and it was MAIN TAGGED and had a take that was something like “well people have high libidos and nurses are so sexy and motherly!!! its not jimmys fault!!!”

its just been really upsetting me bc 1. that came from a victim and it genuinely makes me concerned for their wellbeing 2. i am a victim myself and it was just fucking awful to hear that “oh well maybe it was your fault for being so [adjective] and [adjective]” :(

btw I've read the IGN article about their interview with the dragon age 4 game director bc I wanted to confirm where all the pansexual talk came from and not even once it was mentioned in a quotation that the director said all DA4 companions are pan

I think what happened here is that the IGN journalist who wrote the article assumed it meant pan because it was said that the player can romance regardless of gender and/or race of the companions. which is lowkey biphobic bc bisexuality does mean regardless of gender. but people never get that part right do they. bc biphobia

so yeah it is somewhat disheartening in the midst of feeling a lot of joy due to all the news of a new installment in a beloved franchise to see all the not-so-new bisexuality misinterpretation to put it mildly...

btw I'm still very happy that they're all confirmed queer and I will be posting content of them all here on this blog regardless but it's just that we're in the middle of 2024 and people still think that bisexuality means only men and women you know? it's tiring very exhausting specially here on tumblr and specially² on the DA fandom...

btw² this is not meant to cause any infighting just needed to get this off my chest bc I'm a very tired bisexual but what's more important is the cishet dudebros tears caused by the confirmation of all companions being queer ✨ we can all agree on that right? 😌

May I suggest Tally Youngblood and Shay from Uglies Series (2005-2007) by Scott Westerfeld? Your typical homoerotic, jealous, toxic teen girl friendship between the weird girl desperate to conform and the confident rebel, except now it is exploited by the dystopian government so that they end up on different sides again and again.

Sadly, instead of making it canon, they actually toned it *down* for the 2024 Netflix adaptation, but it is still noticeable in many scenes. In the book the subtext is intense, but still just subtext, even if before and after that the author wrote quite a few amazing sapphic couples that are indeed canon.

new tags added!

so I've added some new tags that I've been meaning to for a while and hopefully it'll be useful for others who want to browse! :)

they're related to the bi flag in posts:

#bi flag: flag for when there's a bi flag in the post in its original retangular form

#bi flag: colors e.g. when the gifset/art is colored with bi colors or when a character's color scheme is changed to the bi colors or bi lighting or anything of the sort

#bi flag: holding for when the subject is (you guessed it) proudly holding/carrying the bi flag

#bi flag: wrapped around for when (you guessed it again) the subject is proudly wrapped around the bi flag

and there's also the usual #bisexuality for talks about our beautiful sexuality

"but why did you separate holding and wrapped around??" because seeing someone wrapped around the bi flag specifically gives me warm fuzzies stomach butterflies heartwarming off the charts and I want an easy way to see them anytime 🥹
