Tina jerked her head up just in time to see Nines bolting towards her.
If she didn't know better she'd assume Cyberlife built engine powered roller blades into his shoes with how fast he was running.
Nines nearly vaulted over a desk before realising that there was still others in the proximity, and such extensive measures would lead to others assuming Nines was attempting some sort of urgent police pursuit.
Nevertheless he ran into the breakdown with haste, and Tina noticed that his LED was blaring red.
"Nines? What is it?" Tina pushed herself away from the table Gavin and her had been chatting at as Gavin also stood looked over to the android at the doorway.
Gavin looked like Nines had grown a second head, and honestly, he was so loud that it sure sounded like it.
"Do ya mind turning it down a bit what the fu-"
"OFFICER CHEN WHERE IS YOUR WOUND? WHEN DID THIS INCI-"
"Nines chill out," Tina finally managed to get out, "What wound are you talking about? What did you even find?"
Nines looked a mixture of worried, anxious, and ready to flip over a desk.
The android seemed to realize his volume before elaborating, a bit quieter, "There was blood on the seat cushion on your desk chair, are you alright?"
Tina and Gavin stared in varying states of confusion before turning to each other. Gavin with a quirked eyebrow and Tina with her mouth slightly ajar.
Tina snorted a little bit.
Honestly, if what Nines had said was true, she was glad that it was him who found out, out of all of the other people in the precinct.
But that meant that she had the task of calming down a very panicked android, who was worried that his colleague was bleeding.
"Officer if you require assistance please tell me," Nines said, still looking panicked, and wondering why Tina hadn't even tried to explain where the blood had been coming from.
Gavin seemed to finally understand it now, and chuckled a little bit when the realization set in.
"Nines it's, well," Gavin looked at Tina, asking for permission to continue. Tina nodded before chuckling a bit to herself.
Nines seemed even more confused now.
"A grammatical term used to signify-"
"No no no, not the language term," Gavin said, laughing a little, "it's called menstruation".
Nines was very confused. When Gavin didn't add on to his explanation, he searched it up himself.
His LED spun once before settling back to red, and then yellow. Nines grimaced slightly at what the search had brought up.
At least his colleague didn't have an untreated wound, but still, a period sounded just as painful.
Open bleeding for up to a week? Cramps? Comparisons to the pain of childbirth?
"Nines, thanks for worrying so much about me buddy, but I'm fine," said Tina, still smiling.
"I think you left your change of uniform in your locker from last week," Gavin told her.
She nodded in thanks, and then downed the rest of her coffee.
She clapped Nines on the shoulder and said a quick thanks before going to grab the keys to her locker.
Nines and Gavin just stared at each other for a few seconds.
"I don't know how she does it."
"Does what," asked Gavin curiously, Nines looked like he had seen a ghost.
"How do people continue with daily routines while dealing with monthly menstruations".
"That Nines, is an answer I can't give you," said Gavin.
"I read that chocolate helps," said Nines, still in a slight daze.
"It most certainly does," said Tina with a chuckle, as she passed by the room in the hallway.
