Straight on til moUrning, an original work devised by Synetic’s own Victoria Bertocci and Pasquale Guiducci with the entire relEASE ensemble, imagines Peter Pan growing up in a racially segregated Neverland. This inventive take on a classic story finds Peter Pan in a world where he is forced to grow up. Pursued by pirates and afraid of the future, time is against him as he struggles with whether to fight against his former friends. This new play lives in a world of uncertainty and fear, opening a conversation about race and justice in America through the lens of the standard fairytale.

relEASE is co-founded by performing artists, Tori Bertocci and Pasquale Guiducci. relEASE is a physical theatre company that fuses storytelling together with dance, movement, and other forms of expression. What immediately caught my attention is that the Orson referred to in Waiting for Orson is the same Orson that "Mork from Ork" would talk to at the end of every episode on the sitcom Mork and Mindy (1978-1982). I used to love that show!
