I don't know if it makes Fordo and Rex more badass or stupider that DC-17's were their primary weapons. A DC-17 pistol blaster only contains 50 charges. Going into battle with only 100 rounds at a time when compared to DC-15 rifles, which were the standard with 17s being back-ups, having 500+ vharges is insane. How either of them didn't die or get shot because they had to reload, I don't know.
