Secret Santa 2025!!
Hello! This is my first ever secret Santa work for the DCA fandom so I put my all into it! @daycarefriendpickup
This is my gift for @natruallyflavoredspringwater
Summary: You are a mechanic at the PizzaPlex, the youngest one at that! Being super busy with work has you wanting to skip the Christmas season all together (and get some extra cash) until your three friends, the daycare attendants, offer you with an invitation...
tw: manhandling, overworked reader, platonic relationships, fluff, comfort, snuggles (and maybe some misspellings)
Word Count: 4k+
You have no idea what they have planned for you. They were very adamant about you staying behind after hours, which you were going to anyways for that sweet holiday overtime pay. You were probably the only employee who wanted to stay in the pizza plex during Christmas. No one wanted to miss the festive holiday by spending their time with the so called ‘creepy animatronics’.
You didn’t see it. All you found where a bunch of worn-down beings that needed a little TLC. Which being the wonderful and talented inventor you are, was very easy to do. The Daycare Attendants progress was your pride in joy in manner of upgrades and upkeep. Being the oldest animatronic to come into the plex, their transformation into their new bodies (all decked out with the latest and greatest emotes, internal hardware, and cooling system) was your highest achievement.
You will say, however, after all their upgrades. They started acting…strange around you. Normally you have to walk by the daycare to get to your workshop. It was part of your daily commute so to speak. Except now that commute was interrupted by one of the Daycare Attendants coming out of the daycare doors just to say hi and check in with you. Mainly the attendant who does that the most is Sun. The sort of face for the daycare who is always ready to brighten your day with his smile.
Other times, especially when you spend to long hyper focused on a project, the night-time attendant, Moon, will sneak into your workshop and startle you out of your concentration by blowing a puff of air on the back of your neck. Which scared the ever-living crap out of you and always made you scold Moon for sneaking up on you. To which he would just snicker and tell you to get up and walk around the room with him. Saying he didn’t want his and his partners’ mechanic to get their own squeaking hinges and joints.
And the third and final attendant, who really wasn’t a daycare attendant and more the head of security for the pizza plex, he would like to…well just walk you back to the main entrance when your shift was done. You don’t know why he did it, but Eclipse seemed to look forward to your little walks and chats, so you didn’t have the heart to tell him to stop. And it’s not like it’s causing any harm or setbacks to Fazbear. Eclipse was the best security bot out there! Other locations wished they had him.
Anywho…it was during one of those walks with Eclipse that he asked you if you were doing anything during Christmas.
It was when you just finished up a somewhat tiring task of preparing a upgrades for Roxanne and Montgomery. Fazbear wanted the two to be somewhat softer and have less…violent tendencies when interacting with guests. But knowing that you couldn’t just CHANGE their personality manually. So you were making a list of topics to basically have a therapy session.
Eclipse had then knocked on your desk, startling you as he reminded you that your shift was over and it was, “Time to go home, little star”.
Then, while stopping by El Chips for a quick snack, Eclipse brought up his strange question. Which prompted you to look up at his tall form with a small tilt of his head. The action leading him to give you a small smile.
“What?” You had asked.
“Well, are you busy?” Eclipse took the food brought out by a staff bot and handed it to you.
“Uhm…No I guess. I was gonna get some extra work done—,”
“Oh star…” Eclipse sighed as you both walked out of El Chips and back into the main auditorium. “You shouldn’t keep pushing yourself too hard. Back in my day, kids your age would just run around and play.”
You chuckled, “Okay, Grandpa~.”
Eclipse rolled his eyes and crossed all four of his arms, “I am serious though…Tell you what? I’ll offer you a deal.”
“Should I be worried?” You teased, taking a bite out of your ‘Glamrock Mega Taco Wrap®’ with a sort of happy hum.
“Up to you.” Eclipse shrugged. “Sun and Moon wanted me to ask you this for a while…and you know how they get~.”
“Yep. I am very well acquainted with your husbands.” You snorted.
“Well, then you probably already know what I’m going to ask.” Eclipse chuckled with a very warm-filled tone. “They want you to come by Christmas night for a small surprise.”
You swallowed down another bite of your snack. You glanced up at him with a slightly concerned look. “Really? Wouldn’t I just…I dunno, butt into your festivities?”
“You think we would invite you if we didn’t want you to ‘butt in’?” Eclipse raised a brow.
“I just—,”
Eclipse placed a finger on your lips, “Ah, ah ah~. Enough of that. I am getting quite tired of you putting yourself down. Starlight, we want to you to join us…”
You sighed and finished up your taco before you gave him a small shrug. “…alright fine! I’ll come by to see you guys—eep!”
Eclipse smiled and patted you on the back, pleased. “Make sure to wear something comfortable.”
And so now that leads us to the present day with you standing in front of the pizza plex wearing a long, big, poofy jacket. One of the few warm winter items in your house. You really need to go shopping later…
Patting down your pockets, you find your company id card. Pressing it against the small console near the door, the locks click and the entrance opens. Stepping in, you are immediately hit with a wall of warm and the usual scent of sweaty remnants and the tears of interns.
Home sweet home and all.
And of course, waiting for you at the entrance was Eclipse himself. Though not in his usual jester attire. No, this time he was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a Christmas sweater, one that was red and white and had images of snowflakes all over it. It even had the extra two lower sleeves sewn on.
He looked at ease and when he spotted you, his eyes lit up with warmth. “Little Star~. You did show up.”
“What?” You smirk, putting your hands in your pockets, “Think I wouldn’t come?”
“That was a possibility.” Eclipse admits with a chuckle before offering one of his hands for you to take. Which you do in a quick manner. You both make your way to the daycare, passing all the staff bots who were working on transforming the pizza plex into a hodgepodge of Christmas stuff.
“Soooo.” You tilt your head to the side and away from him as you extend the ‘o’ before snapping it back into place. “What’s in store for me tonight? Christmas arts and crafts? A puppet rendition of ‘A Christmas Carol’? Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Karakoe?”
“You’ll see. Be patient little star~.” Eclipse chuckles with a slight purr to his tone. Petting your hand with his much larger palm as a means to settle some of your anxious nerves.
“Do you have any idea how suspicious that sounds?” You raise a brow but don’t ask any more questions when the only response you get is the usual calm look Eclipse gives you.
Walking past the large golden statues of the daycare attendants and trotting down the pointless stairs (you have sent many complaints to management) you two finally reach the daycare doors. Which of course are decorated with paper cut outs of snowflakes clearly made by the children that spend their afterschool hours here on the weekdays.
It was enough to make you smile.
Eclipse releases your hand to push both the large heavy doors open. Leading into the brightly lit daycare world. Which of course was in the middle (Or looks to be finishing up) of a cleaning. Sun stands there in the middle of the room wearing a bright green sweater with a festive Christmas tree pattern.
The animatronic is currently scrubbing down a barrel with a disinfected wipe. He does stop though when he hears the squeaking of the doors, a quick look of annoyance directed at the corner of one door (no doubt at the hinges) before his gaze darts to Eclipse’s. Then Sun’s expression turns to one of warmth and love.
“Clipsey!” Sun’s rays spin as he skips over. Stopping at the desk first to throw away the dirtied wipe, he then wraps Eclipse up in a tight hug, going on his tippy toes to plant a soft kiss on the taller animatronic’s cheek.
“Hello, daylight.” Eclipse purrs, returning the kiss with one of his own. “I brought our sweet friend—,”
“Sunflower!” Sun’s head snaps in your direction and he all but pushes Eclipse away from his person before charging at you.
You can hardly get a word in as you are scooped up and spin in a very tight and fast circle. Hands tightly hold onto yellow silicone casing as a means to steady yourself.
“Merry, merry MERRY Christmas!!!” Sun shouts giddily.
“Sunshine.” Eclipse’s voice is laced in concern, but he makes no move to stop his partner. As this is something that Sun has done all his life…without fail.
Sun abruptly stops and you grunt in slight pain from the whiplash. “Ow—,”
“Oh I am sosososososo sorry Friend!” Sun gently sets you down and starts pulling and prodding at different parts of your body before settling on squishing your cheeks between his large hands. “Are you alright? Do you need to sit down?”
You take a deep breath before letting out a sigh and offering the solar themed caregiver a smile, “I’m alright bud! Just a little…shaken is all.”
Sun gives a dramatic sigh of relief, even wiping the nonexistent sweat off his brow. Then he claps his hands in glee and hops from one foot to the other. “Oh I am so happy that you have decided to join us! For a moment I thought Eclipse might have scared you away!”
Eclipse rolls his eyes while you raise a brow. You tilt your head, “Did all three of you think that I wouldn’t show up?”
Eclipse takes a step towards you and pets your head, “Something like that.”
Sun giggles before looking over his shoulder in the direction of the castle. “Moonie should be done by now! We can head on up!”
“Splendid.” Eclipse holds out one of his arms to Sun, “Then shall we take our little star up there?”
“Yes! We shall!” You have no time to react as once again you find yourself up in Sun’s arms. One of his lengthy limbs sets you on his waist while his free arm interlocks with Eclipse’s.
Normally you would fight…and you have in the past. When he first did this, you were left mortified, feeling like a silly toddler who couldn’t even walk on their own two feet. When you brough it up to Sun, he simply said he held all his friends like this. So now you’ve learned to live with it (Although some days you have to scold him to put you down).
The walk to the castle is quiet as a comfortable silence settles over you all. The closer you get, the faster your animatronic friends would seem to walk. So much so, that in the blink of an eye, you arrived at the door and Eclipse is pushing it open.
Immediately the aroma of cinnamon and mint wash over you. There in the room is a small Christmas tree with a bunch of glittery crafts acting as ornaments. A table is set up on the side and is filled with cookies and various other treats. Currently setting down a tray of steaming snickerdoodles is Moon. Wearing a Santa hat instead of his usual nightcap, and of course wearing a white, fluffy knitted sweater with mistletoe patterns on it.
His red eyes dart towards the door and he smiles when Sun sets you down safely on your feet. The naptime animatronic opens his arms with a smile, even crouching down a bit. “Hello starlight. Happy holidays~.”
“Hi Moon.” You offer him a warm smile of your own and walk into his hug. He closes his arms around you and you do the same to him. Only, one of his hands cradles the back of your head, carding through your hair as he rocks you back and forth. He pulls back with that same smile, his red eyes taking in your features.
He raises a brow as he swipes under one of your eyes with his thumb, “And what are these?”
“Uhm…nothing?” You avert your gaze.
Moon tsks while Sun and Eclipse laugh. Both the solar themed animatronics making themselves comfortable on one of the humongous beanbags in the room. You glare at them but it’s not that harsh.
“Starlight~.” Moon growls lightly before standing to his full height and leveling you with a look that says you are in for a lecture…oh joy.
“You can’t not keep denying your body its basic needs.” He starts off, taking you hand and leading you to a chair. “If you need to eat? You eat. If you need to drink? You drink. And if you need to sleep—,”
“Chug an energy drink, take a cold shower, and get started on the mountain of paperwork I need to get done!” You joke, letting Moon push you down into the chair. You hold up your hands in surrender when he gives you a warning glare, “Relax, Moon…I’m getting rest—,”
“Those eyebags beg to differ—,”
“They’re not THAT bad.” You rub the back of your neck.
Moon crosses his arms, “Sweetie…Santa could but all his toys in those bags and still have space leftover…”
That causes you to avert you eyes again and let out a weak chuckle. “Oh…”
Moon rubs his temple with a sigh. He looks over at his partners with a soft smile and tilts his head. “Do you both think we should give Starlight their presents?”
You blink, “Presents where involved?”
Sun nods his head vigorously and bounces in his seat, “Yes yes yes! What’s Christmas without presents?”
“But…But I didn’t get you guys anything…” All three frown when you start to nervously pick at some scabs on your hand.
“Well, that’s not true, little star.” Eclipse gets up and moves towards you, settling down on a knee to get on your eye level, “You being here is a gift in of itself. One that we wouldn’t trade for anything else.”
The other two attendants nod their heads. Sun then turns his attention to Moon and gestures to the small tube in the wall. The same one that leads to the small quiet corner that Moon frequents. Said naptime animatronic smiles and makes his way into that room.
You try to watch and see what he was doing, but Eclipse is quick to block your line of vision. When you give him a confused look he chuckles and shakes his head. He pets the top of your hair, “Presents shouldn’t be spoiled. It would ruin the surprise~.”
A plate full of cookies is shoved in your personal bubble and you jump in your seat from the motion. Sun smiles sheepishly before plucking up a sugar cookie that looked like a Christmas tree.
“Try this one! I made them all myself! Well, Moonie baked the batter—but I decorated each sugary treat!”
You thank him and take the dessert. Biting into it, you savor the sweet and fluffy taste of sugar. Even the frosting was delicious. You forget to stop yourself when you reach for another cookie. Sun does his best not to jump up and down at how adorable you look while Eclipse does nothing to stop the string of coos leaving his voice box.
You don’t mind…they treat even the human daycare staff like they are children. It’s their programing, they can’t help it.
Moon reappears from the tube and opens his mouth to speak, but stops when he sees your cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk, full of those tiny little cookies. You almost choke when you hear his warm laugh.
“Don’t spoil their dinner, my loves.” Moon rolls his eyes before lifting his palm and stretching it in your direction. Eclipse and Sun back away from you slightly so you could see better.
You tilt your head, swallowing the last of the cookies in your mouth. “What’s going on?”
“Come and see.” Moon smiles and wiggles his fingers. To which you sigh, get up from your seat, and walk over to take his hand.
His smile widens as he gently starts leading you into the tube. Behind you shadows fall, signaling Sun and Eclipse following as well.
“You’ll love this sunflower!”
“We’ve worked very hard on this so we hope you like it, little star.”
“There we go, almost there, starlight~.”
You blink at the sudden change in lighting, going from bright to barely visible. The only light coming from the small glow in the dark stars glued to the ceiling. As well as the glow coming from the all three of the animatronics’ optics.
You jaw drops at the sight in front of you, “What the…
“I know it’s not a lot and I could have made it better than this with better materials…” Moon sighs which ends with a rattling sound coming from his chest with how his fans work. “But I do hope you enjoy it all the same.”
In front of you, making up the ENTIRE space of the room, was a huge pillow fort. Various pillows and blankets shaped and bended to make a palace fit for a god! Fairy lights were hung up as well as some fabrics but you don’t know how! Pillows and beanbags cushion the floor and plushies flank the path deeper into the fort which ends in a larger space for people to lay down in.
It was incredible…and smelled very much like lavender.
“This is incredible.” You breath out the words before you can stop yourself. You do however turn a shade of pink and snap your mouth shut. This, in turn, leads to Moon sending you a knowing smile your way, Eclipse letting out a string of coos, and Sun to tackle you in a hug.
The action from Sun sends you both rolling into the soft cushioned floor of the fort with a crash. You can’t help but laugh with him after your body takes a moment to realize that its safe. You wrap your arms around his neck while giggling, feelings as if it would be the right action to take after everything.
Sun’s arms wrap all around you, warm and soft despite his silicone casing. He turns on his back with a content sigh, calming down from his own laughter. He watches as Moon and Eclipse slink into the fort with him and you.
Moon sits down right next to you both, folding his legs under him in a crisscross fashion. His hat hangs over one of his shoulders, the bell at the end softly chiming whenever its jostled. Guess that was one thing that this Santa hat and his nightcap had in common. You look at him with tears in your eyes from all the laughter. You get confused when you see him look at you with the exact same expression he has when one of the children do something cute.
Moon then moves to lay down next to Sun, propping his head up with his arm while the other lays over his hip. “Glad you like your gift, starlight~.”
“It’s…nice.” You admit sheepishly, feeling self-conscious for how you acted earlier.
“Oh don’t be like that, Sunflower!” Sun playfully chides, running his hands up and down your back. “It’s okay if you like it! That’s the whole point!”
“But…” You try to push yourself up, but Moon is quick to gently push you back down onto Sun’s chest.
A long and heavy weight settles on your back. And, to your surprise, it starts to warm up. You look to your other side to find Eclipse finishing tucking you, Sun, and Moon into the blanket with a few of his hands, while the other holds a remote with two buttons. The one on the bottom being blue with an arrow pointing downward, while the one on top of the remote was red and had its arrow pointing up.
His thumb was currently hovering over the red button. “Relax, little star. We aren’t letting you go anytime soon~.”
“Why?” Should you be more concerned with all of this? Probably. But you have worked with these guys for going on a year now. You knew that they wouldn’t hurt anyone unless provoked, or someone threatens a child. Although you can’t help but worry just a tad.
“Because you told us that you haven’t had a proper Christmas in years!” Sun tightens his hold on you ever so slightly.
“And whenever we see you, you are always busy.” Moon tsks, moving his hand from your back to your hair. You shiver as he scratches the nape of your neck. “You do not care for yourself as you should, sweetie. Especially when you as young as you are.”
“I have to work hard so that none of you get broken—,”
“You’ll get broken if you keep this up.” Eclipse growls lightly. He pulls the blanket up and nestles in himself. He drapes one of his arms over your lower back, “So we decided to take matters into our own hands.”
“Christmas is the season to enjoy the warmth with family and friends!” you look up at Sun as he smiles, “Hence why we…wanted to give you the gift of rest!”
“Feels and sounds more like the gift of kidnapping—,”
“POtato, PoTATo.” The solar animatronic’s rays spin back and forth as he shrugs. “We have everything prepared! You won’t have to worry about food because we have all your favorites stocked up! And you don’t even have to work since fazbear is giving all their employees the weekend off for the holidays!”
You sigh and burry your nose in the casing of Sun’s chest. “Guys…….this is…a lot.”
“Only the best for you, starlight.” Moon whispers, joining Eclipse and Sun in hugging you closely, “Please…let us just care for you?”
“Let us shower you in affection only we can provide.” Eclipse moves closer and nuzzles into the side of your head.
“Let us allow you to forget everything and be a child again. Not simply a cooperate mechanic that lives off McDonalds and caffeine.” Sun finishes.
They…weren’t wrong. You’ve been working nonstop…When was the last time you relaxed? Was it Thursday? No, last week? You kept drawing a blank. But you were told you were doing good! Your bosses have been singing your praises! Like how you have been the most mature worker on their staff. How you never get distracted like a kid when it comes to working at the plex. Never complain. Never ask questions. Always knows just what to do AND…
It’s tiring…
You hate being look down upon like a child…so you deprive yourself of all that stuff. But it’s kind of mind numbing hearing the same spiel from your coworkers about how they don’t have to really do anything because “you do it all so well anyways!”, and that they “can take a load off because you’ve done it all already!”.
…what was stopping you from accepting Sun, Moon, and Eclipse’s gift?
…
You wrap your arms around Sun’s torso and hug him tightly, making him hum. He pets your hair with a gentle touch. “Sunflower?”
“…will…will you be annoyed if I stay?” You whisper, not bothering to look up at any of them.
Moon chuckles looking at Eclipse who shakes his head playfully. They couldn’t get enough of you…
All three daycare attendants move closer to you, curling in a protective manner around your much smaller frame compared to theirs. Moon presses a soft kiss to the side of your head. Sun presses his forehead against your own in a silent reassurance. And Eclipse nuzzles into your cheek with a hushed purr.
“Never little star~.”
“We’re always happy to have you here with us!”
“Just please get some rest…”
“We’ll be right here for you when you need us~…”
