Seriously, I am fucking pissed at realizing a friend’s fic, which is posted AS A WHOLE FIC AND THAT’S WHAT IS LINKED ON THE DCBB LJ, is being slow posted on AO3 (SOMETHING THAT I HAVE DONE FOR EVERY SINGLE BANG I HAVE SAVE ONE), to help drive more traffic to it and have it hit more people...
THE ONLY COMMENTS HER FICS HAVE RECEIVED ARE PEOPLE FUCKING CHIDING HER FOR NOT POSTING THE ENTIRE FIC AT THE SAME TIME.
Like, OH LOOK, SOMEONE IS BREAKING DA RULES.
YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES. DO YOU NOT REALIZE THE MESSAGE THIS SENDS TO WRITERS? DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND HOW NEGATIVE THIS ATTITUDE IS?
And because I am a really salty fucking hobag about this, considering it happened to one of the nicest people you will fucking FIND on tumblr, I want to show you, and perfectly fucking illustrate why this is unacceptable. Here are the comments -

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I AM FUCKING FURIOUS AT THESE COMMENTS? AND THESE ARE COPIED, FUCKING VERBATIM, OUT OF AO3?
There is not a SINGLE. FUCKING. WORD. said about the story. NOT A SINGLE ONE. THERE ARE ALMOST NINE THOUSAND WORDS OF THIS FIC POSTED.
Not a single fucking one of them has MENTIONED the GODDAMN STORY.
It’s one thing to make an innocent inquiry, like the last person did (which, coincidentally is the only one that the author responded to), BUT YOU SHOULD STILL MENTION THE GODDAMN STORY.
THIS IS THE KIND OF SHIT THAT DRIVES AUTHORS OUT OF FANDOM. THIS. THIS IS PRECISELY THE KIND OF READER-ENTITLEMENT THAT DRIVES AUTHORS AWAY. A LOT OF WRITERS DON’T GET ANGRY, THEY STOP FUCKING CREATING CONTENT.
