Eyes focus slowly, the edges of his vision sharpening before the rest, a haze of colour dancing across his sight. Never had he been so exhausted.
Hand wipes across his mouth, pulling away red with the blood that had trickled out over his lip. The teen sighed. His body was falling apart. Stumbling, Neirin grasps desperately at the uneven brick of the wall, skin burning at the sensation.
He slowed, doubling over and heaving with the pain that ran through his body. He thought, hoped, that oif he expelled all the energy burning inside him that his body would heal. Instead he was weak, and nearing death.
But, at least, he was free.
Drawing a deep breath in, black spots danced across the teens vision, legs shaking he dropped to the ground. Leaning against the ground, Neirin closed his eyes for a moment, wheezing.
