Pink astilbe in two tubs that flank my side garden path. It is deep shade and very dry there between the large oak trees and buildings, so I am only able to grow them in containers that I keep well watered. The soil is pretty much straight clay soil that I dug from my yard. Life! The garden has produced first fruit first vegetable, to be exact first perfectly round, pink radish and if that burst of new birth wasn't exciting enough the peas are pushing through fast and furious reaching toward the sun demanding the fresh air, thirsting.
