This is the coolest thing I've done in a while. #dcpadventure #medievaltimes (at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament - Orlando)
Second video is up in case yall wanted to watch or whatever. As always feel free to ask me anything you'd like to see me talk about in my videos. Promise I'll make them more frequently.
Finally here yall go. Sorry for the wait and I know it isn't much. But now that I've figured out some problems relating to technical, time and well self confidence, I can start this video adventure. Also sorry about quality, I'm working on that. But anyways, enjoy for now I guess.
DCP Update
Not that probably anyone has noticed or really cared, but I'll soon have an update on my adventures here in Disney.
DCP Round 2 Entry 1
Finally done with check in day. My feet are sore and I basically don't even have the energy to type this. But oh well. My roommates all seem pretty awesome, got to have a good amount of time to bond with some of them throughout the day.
The steps for check in day went a little faster for me luckily since I was an alumni of the program so a lot of my info was already in the system. Plus I got an alumni button :D
Sadly I don't get to redo Traditions with everyone. I mean yeah it saves like 4 hours of my day and plenty of tears of joy, but like it was a fun part of the process.
Well now I just get to kind of chill up until Friday. I have to go to a housing meeting later today and pick up my I.D. at Disney University on Thursday but that's all I got the next few days.
Luckily I've started making some friends down here and have discovered plenty of people from my previous time are still around so yay :)
Oh and if anyone was concerned, my activity on tumblr will probably go down a bit over the next week, but I'll still be around :)
DCP Entry 14
Yeah I know I suck at writing these regularly. But whatever. I don't even know if yall read these haha.
So it's been a little rough lately. There's been quite a bit of drama happening back where I'm from and even though I'm miles away I somehow have gotten involved. Also, my two best friends on the program self termed within 5 days of each other. It was a blow that I wasn't ready to take just yet. I knew it'd happen, but just happened a month before it was supposed to. For a while I couldn't go to work without thinking there was a part of me missing. But I know I'll see them again, I already have two roadtrips planned to visit them both. And there isn't really a part of me missing, they're still with me just physically miles away.
And I've made 5 other amazing friends over the last month that I wish I'd met sooner. They're continually helping make this last month be filled with amazing memories. I honestly think the one thing I wish I'd known going into this program was how many wonderful people I'd meet and befriend. People that I couldn't imagine life without.
Well with one month left, I am scrambling to do everything I still have left on my bucket list. One thing is clear though, Disney is officially my home. I pity all my friends back at my university cause they are about to see some serious withdrawals haha.
DCP Entry 13
It's kinda fitting that my 13th entry is going to cover a lot of not so fun stuff.
Remember how I said I possibly anger the scheduling gods of Disney? I am 100% certain I somehow did. For beginners, I have been constantly deployed to Yacht&Beach. Which don't get me wrong, it's a lovely resort. The guards and coordinators are amazing and a half. However, the managers are a completely story. They aren't the nicest of people, which is something I can deal with. I know I'm not always going to get along with my managers in life. These managers only care about keeping the pool open and have no care about the safety of the guards. They also have a belief that deployed guards don't warrant the same respect as those statused there. They actually said that to my face. They were the ones refusing to allow me to be scheduled for my required inservice and I spent a lot of the month fighting them over that and spending my off days waking up early to get my inservice elsewhere. Oh and for deployed guards, if we ever got recognized by guests and earned GSF cards, the cards were promptly thrown in the trash (which I actually witnessed). On top of that I saw them term two deployed guards for lies that the managers made up. Some of the nicest people I met suddenly forced to leave. To say the least I nearly self termed. It was such a horrid environment. However, it helped me learn that I will have managers that bad in life and how to keep smiling and not blow my top.
And after making a couple calls, I got a hold of the scheduling people. They almost seem to be expecting me to call. But I digress. Long story short I am to never be redeployed there. And if I do, I have made some friends with people who will make sure I don't go back. Networking is a powerful thing.
All my family is here to visit this week as well. And although I love them, I quickly realized why I left them 1000 miles away. Never have I ever been to a Disney park which a group of completely uninterested people. Literally none of them care to do anything there. They don't get giddy at the sight of the castle. They also didn't care for any of the awesome things happening at Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekend. To put it simply: I literally began banging my head into a brick wall in the middle of Hollywood.
Oh and people's programs keep ending which is always sad. It's weird to think that in such a short time I've made such good friends that it's hard to imagine life without them. Which on that note I started a new class Corporate Analysis where I've made some freakin amazing friends in a very short span of time. The class is amazing too (hint hint, take it if you ever do DCP). So there's my happy note to my story haha.
