(I may or may not also want a reason to put Shiori in a dress.) Of course he had noticed. He always noticed, his sharp vision wasn’t just for crime fighting. She wondered if she actually admitted it if it would take him off guard. “Is there something wrong with that?” She asked him, a red tint still spread across her cheeks. Not giving it another moment, Shiori simply took her coat off revealing the red dress she had been given to wear to this event. She really wished she had said she didn’t want to go out tonight. “You know, there’s still time to sneak away.”

Little was there to say. The smirk on his lips spoke all he needed to say. Sharp eyes were quick to notice the dress Shiori chose to wear. A brow rose, smirk remain. ❝ Wrong? Why would there be anything wrong? ❞ smirk turned into a grin, eyes closed and turned upward into a smile. ❝ Didn't think you couldn't look more good than you already do. ❞ the hero teased. ❝ Maybe a bit too hot to handle for those here. ❞

Sneak away huh? ❝ Now you're speaking my language. Was never a big fan of these fancy shindigs anyways. To stiff and formal if you get me. ❞ now where was the quickest escape route of out this place?

She really hoped Hawks didn't just catch her staring at him. She knew they were headed somewhere fancy but she hadn't really expected him to wear a suit and tie. Shit! She was still staring, she tried to shake it off and hoped he hadn't noticed. She reached up, adjusting the tie for him, "It looks good on you. Though I think I prefer you in a more relaxed style to match that personality of yours." Yeah, he probably noticed her checking him out the moment he walked in the room. If he noticed, she was sure she wouldn't hear the end of it. (my excuse is Shiori just wanted to see the birbman in a suit and has no shame)

            ❛ Damn. No matter the number of times I’ve put a suit on in the past it still awkward as all hell. At least the design make it slightly more comfortable with my wings... Why can’t suits be wings compliant, seriously. ❜ Hawks thought as he resisted the urge to unbutton the shirt and take it off. Fuck suits. They were not bird friendly.

   ❛ Ties can go die in a ditch somewhere. Who even thought this was necessary? This is torture and no one want ot admit it. ❜ the thought of burning definitely crossed his mind a number of times already, but, unfortunately he needed to wear a suit today.

   Then Hawks felt someone staring and immediately saw it was Shiori and a grin spread across his lips. Was she trying to hide the fact she was staring earlier by adjusting his tie? He wasn’t going to let her go that easily.

   ❝ Like what you see~? ❞ Hawks questioned with a tease. ❝ You seemed quite taken earlier. ❞ he definitely wasn’t going to let this go.

Shiori simply rests her forehead against Hawks shoulder. So much socialization that day, it really wore her out. “Sorry, do you mind of i stay like this for a little while?” It wasn’t as if they had anywhere else to be that day.

            Hawks resisted the urge to laugh, but a chuckle managed to escape him. Shiori had rested her forehead against his shoulder and he somehow found that to be amusing. ❝ Not much for the socializing scene huh? ❞ a grin of sorts formed on the number two hero’s lips. ❝ Nah, I don’t mind. If you plan on passing out to get some rest, I’ll have to carry you to bed. ❞

Shiori merely rested her forehead on Hawks shoulder, a sudden drop in her social battery thanks to that press conference she had been roped into doing with him at the last minute. "How you can survive all those questions is beyond me." She muttered, no hint of her moving in sight. Luckily they were away from the public eye or else she wouldn't be this close to him. "Ya think we can stay like this for a bit longer? I don't think I can face our adoring public just yet."

"Well, the questions are pretty easy to brush off when half of your job is lying to people's faces, y'know? 'Don't cause a scene', 'keep the public calm'.... If heroes weren't trained to lie to the public, I think it would be a lot harder."

Clearly, Hawks didn't mind. He even put his arm around her, patting her shoulder comfortingly. Was this how underground heroes felt when they were thrust into the spotlight they worked so hard to avoid?

"Sure, I don't see why not. They can wait a few more minutes."
